Mr. Speaker, I wish to assure the member that the Prime Minister and this side of the House are absolutely committed to a public service that reflects the face of Canada. I can inform him that in three of the four categories we have met or exceeded our targets. In the final category, we are working hard to close the gap with the assistance of this member and the members for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine, Etobicoke--Lakeshore and Brampton--Springdale.

Mr. Speaker, the member will try to hang anything she can on this event. The fact is the wrongdoing was identified. The person has been charged, disciplined and dismissed. This matter is at an end. The money was identified. We have been to court on that. The person has been penalized for it. I am not sure what else she wants to find out.

Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister has done more than most for farmers in the 24 months that he has been Prime Minister. Not only that, the Wheat Board, which the member would know if he spent any time paying attention to it, is a completely independent organization run by farmers who make all these choices. It is because of the hard work of those farmers that he will get some very good news shortly.

Mr. Speaker, I know the members on the other side do not like the Canadian Wheat Board or the farmers who operate it. However, if the member would care to step outside and repeat those allegations, he can pay the $7,000 that the member for Regina--Lumsden--Lake Centre paid when he made the same allegation outside this chamber.

Mr. Speaker, I can inform the member that the western Canadian farmers who serve on the board of the Canadian Wheat Board and actually conduct the business of the board have done an excellent job on a whole series of new sales. There will be an adjustment to the initial payments that will be forthcoming shortly.

Mr. Speaker, I do realize the members opposite have no interest in supporting the decisions that are made by judges in our courts, have no interest in supporting the decisions that are made by other levels of government and have no interest in supporting the collective agreements that we sign with our employees.
