Madam Speaker, there are some ongoing discussions among the parties as to the future business the House will take up for the remainder of the day. I would ask if we could suspend the House for five minutes.

Mr. Speaker, in the next 15 minutes we will be summoned back to the Chamber to vote on some deferred recorded divisions. I have had some discussions with the other parties. We have come to an agreement. I want to thank the representatives of those other parties for their co-operation. When we reconvene for the deferred recorded divisions, the first division we would ask the Chair to call would be No. 15, the ways and means motion of the government on the matter of the budget.

[Team Cornwall, April 7th, 1997]

Mr. Speaker, welcome back. We are all aware of the tremendous success of Team Canada. In my riding of Stormont-Dundas the Team Canada concept has been adopted to help promote economic growth in the city of Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.

The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, local business people and community leaders have united to form Team Cornwall. Imagine 150 private and public sector professionals working together as a marketing force telling the real, positive story about Cornwall.

The main objective of Team Cornwall is to introduce and encourage future investors to consider Cornwall as an economically healthy environment for investment and for starting up a business.

I recently attended the official Team Cornwall kick-off. The energy, enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by team members were invigorating and encouraging. I am proud to be a Team Cornwall member. Together we are on a mission to bring growth and development to Cornwall and Stormont-Dundas and Glengarry.

Go Team Cornwall, go.

There have been discussions among the parties, which have agreed to let the Minister responsible for Francophonie make a ministerial statement on this day celebrating la Francophonie known as the Jounée internationale de la Francophonie, followed by the hon. member for Verchères, speaking on behalf of the Bloc Quebecois, and the hon. member for Swift Current-Maple Creek-Assiniboia, on behalf of the Reform Party.

So, if you were to seek it, I believe you would find unanimous consent.

Mr. Speaker, I think you will find that the member for St. Albert, who originally had the floor, had indicated to the Chair and to the House that he was splitting his time. Perhaps you would go back to that order.

[Business Of The House, March 18th, 1997]

Mr. Speaker, I believe you will find consent for the following order:

That the period reserved for Private Members' Business on Wednesday, March 19, 1997 be extended by 30 minutes;

That the first 30 minutes of Private Members' Business on Wednesday, March 19, 1997 be for the purpose of completing all remaining stages of Bill C-300;

That during the said 30 minutes, one speaker per party be allowed a maximum of 10 minutes to speak;

That at the end of the 30 minute period, all questions to dispose of the stages shall be deemed to have been put and carried;

That at the completion of Bill C-300, the House will complete the remaining 45 minutes of Private Members' Business item M-277;

That at the completion of the said debate, all questions be deemed put, divisions thereon deemed requested and deemed deferred to Monday, April 7, 1997 at the end of the time provided for Government Orders.
