Business of Supply June 14th, 2018
Mr. Speaker, the member for Pontiac said that greenhouse gas emissions know no national boundary. I think everyone in the House recognizes that is true.
My riding is very agricultural but also very industrial. There are two automotive plants and a lot of suppliers to the automotive industry. I wonder if the member opposite could tell me about the carbon tax in Michigan, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania. These are all states that end up getting our cheap electricity because of the green energy policy in Ontario and are now competing with our industry. Does the member recognize that we will be putting ourselves at a terrible disadvantage?
The people of Ontario spoke very loudly in Ontario last week. Does he have any thoughts on that whole issue?
Petitions June 14th, 2018
Mr. Speaker, it gives me pleasure to present this petition. Increasing concerns about international traffic in human organs removed from victims without consent have not yet led to a legal prohibition on Canadians who travel abroad. There are two bills, one before the House and one in the Senate, Bill C-350 and Bill S-240, and the petitioners request that they be passed as soon as possible to prohibit this. The petitioners are from across southwestern Ontario.
Petitions June 11th, 2018
Mr. Speaker, I have a petition signed by literally hundreds of folks in my riding and other parts of Southwestern Ontario.
Amongst other things, the petitioners say the Government of Canada must defend the rights of all Canadians regardless of whether the current Liberal government agrees with specific views held by individual Canadians. The petitioners believe the current Liberal government's proposed attestation requiring the summer jobs program to hold the same views as the government would contravene the Canadian Charter of Rights.
Therefore, the petitioners call upon the Prime Minister to defend their freedoms of conscience, thought, and belief and withdraw the attestation requirements for applicants for the Canada summer jobs program.

Organ and Tissue Donation April 25th, 2018
Mr. Speaker, every April, Ontarians celebrate BeADonor Month in support of organ and tissue donation awareness. Today I would like to recognize Joanna and Ryley Mitchell, constituents from my riding of Oxford, who are the recipients of the Trillium Gift of Life Network Champion Award. It is given to Ontarians who have made an exceptional difference in organ donation and transplantation. Ryley received a heart transplant at seven months of age, and they have dedicated the past 13 years to volunteering at awareness events and sharing their story with the media. Joanna sits on the executive committee of the Life Donation Awareness Association of Midwest Ontario, while Ryley regularly participates in the Canadian Transplant Games.
I thank Joanna and Ryley for their contribution to organ and tissue donation awareness and for their involvement and leadership in our community.
Firearms Act March 28th, 2018
Mr. Speaker, if a gunsmith is not the likely place to take a firearm, I do not know what would be. We would take a gun to a gunsmith for a variety of reasons. One may be for safety reasons, but this whole issue has been twisted around to say that we do not take a gun to a gunsmith. Where would we take a gun if we needed to have it repaired?
