Mr. Speaker, I believe that the parliamentary secretary used some old talking points from a few weeks ago because the situation is evolving quickly. The majority of Five Eyes countries have banned Huawei. Today we learned that British Telecom confirmed that it was removing Huawei equipment from key areas of its 4G network, and the head of MI6 questioned this Chinese company about its activities in British telecommunications infrastructure. Our economic, security and military interests are at risk.

When will Canada ban Huawei?

Mr. Speaker, Canadian authorities just announced that they have arrested Meng Wanzhou, CFO of Huawei, the Chinese telecommunications company. Ms. Meng is accused of violating the U.S. embargo on Iran. Furthermore, the director of CSIS was very clear when he warned the government about the increase in state-sponsored espionage.

When will the Prime Minister ban Huawei from Canada?

[Marijuana, December 5th, 2018]

Mr. Speaker, I will ask the Prime Minister an easier question

This morning, La Presse reported that Montreal police discovered 977 marijuana plants in a couple's home. While the police was conducting its investigation, this same couple was applying to Health Canada for a permit to grow medical marijuana. The kicker is that they actually got it.

Will the Prime Minister commit to suspending the licence issued by Health Canada to this couple, which is currently under investigation by the Montreal police?

Mr. Speaker, that is just one more reason.

The director of CSIS has confirmed that some countries, sponsored by others, were engaged in interference and espionage. Three of the Five Eyes have decided that Huawei must be banned. Our economic, security and military interests are in jeopardy.

Will the Prime Minister commit to banning Huawei from Canada?

Mr. Speaker, pursuant to section 21(2) of the same act, the Prime Minister received the report on October 12 so he could study it. On November 28, 2018, a month and a half later, the report was released. That means he had a month and a half to sanitize it. Meanwhile, we do not have access to the Prime Minister's guest list, but we know at least one person who was invited. Baghwan Grewal, a director at Goreway Heaven and a former Liberal riding association president, was invited to tag along on the trip to India.

Goreway Heaven is the same company that sold some land to the City of Brampton for a handsome profit. The City of Brampton referred the transaction to the RCMP, because the Minister of Innovation had received a confidential report on the land's value.

My question is simple: who invited the Goreway Heaven representative?

Mr. Speaker, the much-talked-about report of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians was released yesterday, but before that happened, it was reviewed by the Prime Minister on October 12, 2018. The sanitized report indicates that others are once again to blame for the Prime Minister's blunders. The Prime Minister told Canadians about everything he did on his trip and showed them the many costumes he wore, but he did not tell them who was on the guest list.

Why did the Prime Minister not publish the complete guest list for the trip?

Mr. Speaker, it is up to Mr. Enwright to answer those questions. I am here as the official opposition and I am asking the question. It is important for Canada.

We now have another problem: illegal immigrants. Yesterday, we learned from the Parliamentary Budget Officer that it is going to cost $1.1 billion between now and 2020 to process the files of the illegal immigrants who have come to Canada.

What is more, yesterday, the minister misled the House by saying that the Parliamentary Budget Officer had it wrong when he said that the system was not working.

Most of the illegal migrants are from Nigeria, which proves that the Prime Minister's irresponsible tweet had an impact everywhere except the United States.

When will the government fix this problem?

Mr. Speaker, once again, they are sneakily trying to change the subject.

The United States, Australia and New Zealand, three of the Five Eyes, abandoned Huawei, but the other two countries in this security alliance—just two—are still waiting. Why?

Even Germany and Great Britain have serious doubts with respect to national security.

Why does the Prime Minister think this company does not pose a threat to Canada's national security?

Mr. Speaker, is it an international obligation to have 32% of asylum seekers buy a plane ticket from Nigeria to New York and then take a bus to get to Roxham Road? That has nothing to do with any international obligation.

So far, this has cost $1.1 billion in federal money, not to mention the provincial contribution, and it is not over. The problem is that these people have to stop coming here illegally.

Will the government take responsibility and fix this problem?
