Mr. Speaker, once again, I appreciate my colleague's question and I am sympathetic to the plight of temporary foreign workers in Canada. That is why we have improved the quality of employer inspections. We need to work with organizations that support migrant workers here in Canada.
We have also opened up pathways to permanent residence. We are working on sector-specific work permits.

Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for his question.
Temporary foreign workers come here to work temporarily in fisheries, agriculture or other extremely important sectors like tourism. I should note that the current program is not the same program that existed under the Harper government.
As for sector-specific work permits, we are working on this important issue. We have systems in place to protect workers. The companies' obligations are real and must be met.

Mr. Speaker, I will share what Canadians and Albertans care about, and that is the Canada pension plan.
After three weeks of silence on behalf of the Conservative leader, finally a comment on Danielle Smith's idea to take Albertans out of the CPP, a weak, timid response at that. Guess what. Thirty MPs from Alberta, Conservatives every one of them, are silent on the issue. Why? Because they talk a big game in the House, but when it comes to defending Albertans and Canadians, they are silent. We are on the task. We are going to defend Albertans on the CPP.

Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague from Lac‑Saint‑Louis for his question.
The bill in question will accelerate the construction of housing across Canada, thus creating quality jobs. Investing in housing helps build strong communities.
Once again, the Conservatives are filibustering and refusing to vote in favour of this bill for Canadians. They are against social development, against the construction of housing. They are so caught up in their political games that they are not going to support Canadians.
Will they support Canadians, yes or no?

Mr. Speaker, I find it highly shocking that Albertans from the Conservative Party in the House are absolutely silent on a matter that really affects the middle class in Alberta. We are talking about the Government of Alberta trying to take Alberta pensioners out of the Canadian pension plan, destabilizing the pension plan for Canadians from coast to coast to coast.
They talk a big game in this chamber, but when it comes to actually defending Albertans, they sit on the sidelines while we have their backs.
The Economy October 17th, 2023
Mr. Speaker, it really is shocking that Conservatives are claiming to be on the side of Canadians and helping them with affordability when their very allies in the Alberta government in the UCP are trying to take the pension plans of Albertans out of the Canada pension plan to have a reckless, unstable Alberta plan.
While those Conservatives stand on the sidelines and do nothing, we are going to defend the Canadian pension plan in Alberta and across the country.
Official Languages October 3rd, 2023
Mr. Speaker, as my colleagues from the Bloc Québécois know very well, this year we passed Bill C‑13 to modernize the Official Languages Act, including new regulations for federally regulated companies. We will do what it takes to ensure a francophone presence from coast to coast. That is part of the regulations we will introduce. It will then be up to CN to comply with the act and the forthcoming regulations.

Mr. Speaker, congratulations on your new role in the House.
This year we are celebrating the modernization of the Official Languages Act, but we must also set the record straight and talk facts. The principle of bilingualism is a fundamental principle of both our country and our government. We expected the RCMP to live up to these principles and to fill bilingual positions with bilingual personnel.
Natural Resources September 28th, 2023
Mr. Speaker, I want to thank the hon. member for Calgary Skyview for the incredible work he does every day for Albertans.
This summer alone, our government invested more than $300 million in over a dozen great projects, powering over 100,000 homes and giving thousands of good-paying jobs. Today we announced nearly $24 million for the Cypress 2 wind farm in Alberta. This project, with EDF Renewables and the Kainai First Nation, will reduce emissions equivalent to getting 20,000 cars off the road.
While the Conservatives want to chop, chop, chop and block projects, we are delivering for Albertans.
Pensions September 28th, 2023
Mr. Speaker, let me be really clear. I have emails today from Brent, Eva and Ryan, all seniors in Edmonton Centre, and many emails beyond that, imploring our government to make sure that the Premier of Alberta keeps her hands off Albertans' pensions that are in the CPP. Just on performance alone, a few years back, CPP was 20% and AIMCo was 0.5%. The math speaks for itself.
Pensioners need their pensions. This is not the time to play politics with pensions. It is simply not worth it.
