Mr. Speaker, no member of this government is part of this investigation. If the RCMP believes that it has proof that a crime took place, the individuals will be subject to the Federal Accountability Act and the taxpayers' money will be recovered.

Government Contracts October 6th, 2010
Mr. Speaker, in fact, no members of this government are part of the inquiry. If the RCMP finds any wrongdoings with individual contractors, we expect they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The Economy September 28th, 2010
Mr. Speaker, the member from Sarnia—Lambton is talking about an exciting new program that our government has created called the kickstart program. It will help Canadian small businesses to get off the ground. This new initiative provides $40 million to support Canadian entrepreneurial spirit that will grow and build the Canadian economy and Canadian jobs.
We were happy to get the upbeat endorsement of Brett Wilson from CBC's Dragons' Den who said that the government was recognizing that the gap between innovators and ideas in the marketplace was simply someone willing to bet on them. We are willing to bet on Canadian small businesses.
Status of Women September 28th, 2010
Mr. Speaker, this government has listened and we have acted. In fact, we have increased the funding for women to its highest level ever in the history of Canada. We have increased the funding by almost 40% more than it was under the previous Liberal government. We are now supporting projects in every province and territory across the country.
I would ask the hon. member to work with us to support women instead of dividing women's groups.
Millennium Summit September 21st, 2010
Mr. Speaker, our government funds a number of projects to support women's health across this country and internationally. If I may repeat, this government has increased the level of funding to women's groups to the highest level ever in Canadian history. In fact, we have almost doubled it since we have become government.
I ask the member opposite to work with us and make sure that all of these women's groups do get the support that they need.
Millennium Summit September 21st, 2010
Mr. Speaker, that is completely false. Our government has raised funding for women to the highest level ever. In fact, we have almost doubled our funding for women's groups across this country. We are funding projects in every province and every territory. I would ask the member opposite to work with us instead of pitting women's groups against each other.

National Defence September 20th, 2010
Mr. Speaker, it is great to be back in the House. It is good to see you, and it is good to be back representing the good people of Edmonton—Spruce Grove.
On the issue of a competition, there was an international competition. In fact, the Liberals were part of that competition, so they should know it very well. Holding another competition would risk the future of our aerospace industry because any delays, frankly, would be slamming the door shut on Canadian jobs and Canadian companies.
I would ask the member opposite, why would the Liberals take such a risk?
Points of Order June 17th, 2010
Mr. Speaker, as I said, I made reference to the report during question period. I have tabled it with you in both official languages. It is the summary report of the hearings on maternal and child health that was sent to me and my colleague the Minister of International Cooperation by the Conservative members of the status of women committee.
Points of Order June 17th, 2010
Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. I made reference during question period to a document, which I would like to table in both official languages. It is the summary report of the hearings on maternal and child health, sent to me and my colleague the Minister of International Cooperation from the Conservative members of the status of women committee.
