Industry committee  They were low interest, but there was interest, and there was also, as we typically have, a holiday on the principal repayment for the first year.

Industry committee  Thank you. The Black innovation fund was just launched, so we don't have any performance data quite yet. As you know, it is an investment fund, so there will be a period of investment and then a period of harvesting. We're still in the period of investment. I believe you were also referring to the women in tech fund.

Industry committee  On the venture fund, I don't have the exact numbers in front of me. We could definitely get them for you. There has been a tremendous amount of interest. We've done a number of investments. Again, it has that kind of traditional investment and harvesting horizon. It's not like a loan; in the case of loans, you could see performance over a shorter period of time.

Finance committee  We were thrilled to find that Futurpreneur was given additional capital to be able to help during this very serious time. As Michael said, we've been a long-standing partner of Futurpreneur, both in terms of providing capital that piles onto the capital that they provide to individual young entrepreneurs and also that we have a really good referral relationship with them.

Finance committee  Thank you, Mr. Chair. I don't have that information on hand, but we will undertake to check to see if we can provide an industry breakdown.

Finance committee  The program is up and running. One of the things I want to do over the course of the year.... You may have noticed in the budget that there was also an announcement about the boot camps that we're going to be running. What we'd like to do with those boot camps is, obviously, to have them across the country, and use them as an opportunity to bring together the partners we work with, whether the WEOC, Startup Canada, Futurpreneur, or some of the other partners, EDC, and others, to really catalyze our support around women entrepreneurs, and to try to get the word out through them.

Finance committee  We'd love to do more. It's actually not a fund, but represents all of our outstanding loans to individual indigenous entrepreneurs. We'd love to do more in the form of a fund, and we're looking at various options to do that, but we haven't quite landed that yet.

Finance committee  We work closely with the department of ISED, and we report to Parliament through the Minister of ISED. We're a crown corporation. We have our own board of directors, and we report to a board of directors.

Finance committee  Absolutely. That is definitely a segment of entrepreneurs whom we see as having a tremendous amount of untapped opportunity. There are many youth whom we feel are aspiring entrepreneurs, and we want to be able to finance them. We do have an indigenous banking unit at BDC. I think we're up to about 10 people across the country who are dedicated to serving this community.
