Business of Supply  Madam Chair, I will be splitting my time with the member for Saanich—Gulf Islands. I thank the minister for being here. The first question is related to auto. Have you met with, and agreed with the terms and conditions from, Stellantis and LG about the specific amounts being requested for the Windsor battery plant?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, is the federal government going to match the Stellantis-LG battery request with that of the Inflation Reduction Act in the United States? Will that be met? Is that the policy of the government?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, we are negotiating in public, including the company saying that the government has reneged on its position, clawing back responsibility. Does the minister agree with the company's position on that?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, was the IRA ever brought up in any meetings, prior to the Volkswagen deal, with Stellantis in discussions of the agreement with the Windsor plant?

Privilege  Madam Speaker, as we are dealing with China in general, I wonder what the member's thoughts are with regard to the overall policy. I remember this first being raised when I got here with China Minmetals. The government of the day, under Paul Martin, was selling our shares of Petro-Canada, and China Minmetals was buying up Canadian natural resources.

Privilege  Madam Speaker, I am glad the convoy issue was raised because Americans came to my riding to be part of the illegal blockade along Huron Church Road at the Ambassador Bridge. There is certainly a record of those individuals. I am wondering whether the hon. member thinks those people should now be barred from coming into Canada.

Climate Change  Mr. Speaker, the late great Gordon Lightfoot sang “Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings” in his song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, a tribute to the Great Lakes and their power. Our Great Lakes are a Canadian treasure, but from climate change to toxic waste pollution these lakes are increasingly under threat.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, one of the troubling aspects of the motion I am looking at is that there is talk about the free market just taking care of itself and getting out of the way. Meanwhile, the Conservatives want to use government, through a motion in the House of Commons, to actually tell the market what to do.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank the opposition for raising the motion today. I hope the member actually apologizes. I saw him become unhinged in this chamber before and call the Speaker a damn disgrace. He actually apologized to me in the past—

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I will go directly to the question. I will simply ask this. When he closed veterans' offices in my riding, was that a benefit to them getting housing or was it a distraction? I would like to know what he says about that.

Budget Implementation Act, 2023, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, we know that over 100 MPs have already spoken at this stage of the bill. Over 50 years ago, Tommy Douglas sought to have health care as a primary condition of being a Canadian citizen and dental care was part of that vision. I would like the minister to elaborate on people such as seniors and persons with disabilities who will not get proper service, or must wait for root canals and other dental care.

Budget Implementation Act, 2023, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I would like to ask a question with regard to the implementation of dental care. It is really important that the expansion take place as soon as possible. A number of seniors and persons with disabilities in my riding have been without these services and supports. I would like to ask the government about the prioritization of that and on ensuring that we are going to have it as quickly as possible, as well as other supports; obviously, cost of living has been added by the NDP.

I want to thank the member for Cypress Hills—Grasslands for introducing this legislation. As I have mentioned before, private members' bills go through a certain process in this House.
