Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, many of us know that science and health advice evolves as we learn more about COVID-19. I would like to know if the member opposite believes in science and health experts' advice, because it certainly sounded like she was questioning our health experts' advice in her remarks.

Foreign Affairs  Mr. Speaker, Canada and India share very strong people-to-people ties. Many Indo-Canadians, particularly the 600,000 of Punjabi descent, are watching closely as hundreds of thousands of farmers are marching to Delhi in a peaceful protest. However, many of the farmers from Punjab have been met with violence from police and blocked from entry to Delhi.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship  Mr. Speaker, today Canadians commemorate the loss of Manmeet Singh Bhullar, who gave so much to his community here in Canada and particularly vulnerable Sikh and Hindu communities abroad. As Mr. Bhullar once said: The greatness of humanity, the greatness instilled in every human being, the greatness of serving is to be realized and developed.

Income Tax Act  Mr. Speaker, today Stats Canada updated job numbers show that Canada's labour market gained another 84,000 jobs and 2.3 million Canadians have returned back to work after losing their jobs. That means the supports for our businesses, such as the CEBA, the Canada emergency wage subsidy and our rent assistance programs, are working.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, recent offences involving places of worship, homes of faith leaders and the other instances serve as a stark reminder that we cannot take for granted our hard fought freedoms. They have an impact not just on the individuals targeted, but on the communities at large.

Racism  Mr. Speaker, I would like to take a moment to highlight the importance now more than ever to stand up against racism and hate in our communities. Recently, I received a call from a mosque in my riding of Brampton East fearing for their congregation. On the news, I watched a Brampton resident have racial slurs thrown at him while on a golf course.

Infrastructure  Mr. Speaker, the residents of Brampton East were thrilled to hear about the recent $45 million transit investment made by our federal government, which is one of the largest investments in Brampton transit in over 10 years. This funding will allow for increased reliability for riders at capacity, while providing cleaner transit options for the wonderful residents of Brampton.

Resumption of Debate on Address in Reply  Mr. Speaker, I would say to the member across the way that I am still working on my French, but I hope to answer in French one day. Listening has been a key part of our government's plan in providing a better future for Canadians: listening to mothers who are working from home, but also who must care for their children, and listening to businesses that need funding to pay for overhead costs.

Resumption of Debate on Address in Reply  Mr. Speaker, I would like to point out that our government believes in transit investments. Here in Brampton, over $45 million has been invested in transit. We know if we can provide consumers and our residents with better and cleaner transit options, it will help reduce vehicles on the road and in turn reduce pollution.

Resumption of Debate on Address in Reply  Mr. Speaker, as we all know, the pandemic devastated many sectors of the economy and many Canadians lost their jobs. Since the restart of the economy, many Canadians have been able to return to work, but many workers continue to struggle. We know the CERB and the CRB, or the revamped EI, are support systems for these workers to help them in their time of need.

Resumption of Debate on Address in Reply  Mr. Speaker, first and foremost, I would like to thank you and the whole House of Commons team for working hard to ensure members of Parliament across the country can participate during this pandemic, as I am doing right now from Brampton. I would also like to give a shout-out to all of the amazing teachers, including my wife, on World Teachers' Day.

Canada-United States-Mexico Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I wish I could respond to the member in French. I am working on that right now. This is a great deal for Canadians and for the people of Quebec. The respected Premier of Quebec has one of the highest approval ratings across the country. The Bloc Québécois must defend the interests of the Québécois, and it is in the interests of the Québécois that the agreement is ratified and adopted.

Canada-United States-Mexico Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, while we respect the dairy and poultry industry, our position is to negotiate for Canadians across Canada. The member's questions are very important to me. The new NAFTA is incredibly important for Canadians from coast to coast to coast, including the dairy and poultry sectors.

Canada-United States-Mexico Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, 75% of our trade is with our partners to the south. We know this is a great deal for Canadians. It is an honour to stand here and talk about this deal. I know the member across the aisle is from Hamilton. The auto sector has a huge part in this new agreement. The new rules of origin level the playing field for Canada's high-wage workers.
