Business of Supply  moved: That the House call on the government to change its proposed tax cuts by targeting benefits to those who earn less than $90,000 per year, and use those savings to invest in priorities that give real help to Canadians, including dental coverage for uninsured families making less than $90,000 per year.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  These are the people, and the industries in which they toil, that any free trade agreement must consider. In our present national discussions, we hear a lot of talk about the environmental practices of our mining, oil and gas, agriculture, forestry and other industrial users and naively think that this matters to the rest of the world.

Finance committee  I appreciate Mr. Poilievre's intervention. That said, since we are talking about the Canada account, which is approved by the Minister for International Trade and the Minister of Finance, these are probably the two people who would be the most appropriate people to call in to answer these questions.

Finance committee  We have already discussed the Canada account with the Department of Finance. It is indeed the Minister of International Trade and the Minister of Finance who approve these loans through the Canada account. So I'd like to know, first of all, what the criteria are for these loans.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Let me add my voice to those who say the Conservative Party of Canada is the party of freer and more liberalized trade. We were party to the original North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA 1.0. Let me state that this agreement before us today is certainly not NAFTA 2.0; NAFTA .7 might be more accurate.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague. I must, however, remind him that there are lineups across Quebec. Quebeckers are waiting for dental care. If I understand correctly, the Bloc is saying that this issue is not fixed and that criticism of underfunded health care is warranted.

Citizenship Act  Madam Speaker, the member for Fredericton seemed a little frustrated, not with what is before the House but rather the lack of government action in other areas. I think we all understand that when we realize indigenous kids are still having to go to court to get their rights. We see the government's lack of follow-up on a whole range of issues, to sitting down and negotiating so we get the free, prior and informed consent that is part of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Finance committee  Thank you very much. I'll now turn to Madame Hanson and Madame Grynol. Thank you very much for your presentations. Madame Hanson, I had no idea of the extent of diabetes in this country. I would like to ask you what the cost is of not acting. If we don't put in place adequate financing for diabetes 360°, how many lives will be lost in a given year?

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I rise to participate in the debate today with mixed feelings. I certainly recognize the need for ratification of this treaty, but I also recognize the need to do the due diligence required to look at a treaty that, by all measures, can be considered as deficient.

Finance committee  Thanks very much, Minister Morneau, for being here today. You'll recall that the last time I questioned you at finance committee we talked about the cost of the Trans Mountain pipeline. At the time, you indicated there was no updated construction schedule around Trans Mountain, and you thought the figures at the time, $7.4 billion, did not need to be updated.

Finance committee  I’d like to thank the witnesses. My first questions are for Mr. Lampron and Mr. Weins. You talked about the expanded market access under the recent trade deals and the negative impact on supply management. I have two questions for you. The first has to do with the reciprocity of standards between Canada and the U.S.

Canada-China Relations committee  Thank you, Mr. Chair. Thank you, witnesses, for being here and for all the work you are doing on this issue, which is beyond complicated, to be frank. Deputy Minister, although she didn't elaborate on it, I believe my colleague was criticizing the government for not going ahead and signing a free trade agreement with China, which in her view would have made getting over the current impasse that Canada finds itself in—the current challenges—easier.

Members Not Seeking Re-Election to the 43rd Parliament  He is doing a tremendous job in the Chatham office, managing the constituency casework, and I thank Wayne. Peter Bondy and Lisa Mitchell were also important leaders who served in the constituency and who helped me shape the office in those early years. I say thanks to Peter and Lisa. Of course there is my EDA: Dale, Eldon, Bernice, Mike, Gary and so many more.
