Privilege  This is probably one of the lightest legislative agendas we have seen in 50 years. It is incredible how little the government has been able to get done, outside of selfies, of course, because it does a lot of those.

Privilege  It will be over the dead bodies and over the fight of every single opposition member in this place before we allow the Prime Minister of Canada to use this place as some sort of convenient audience before he goes to Broadway to have a selfie taken.

Employment  This government specializes in empty rhetoric and marketing slogans. It is no wonder, when we see how the Prime Minister is running this government with selfies all the time. It seems like image counts for everything. It is always a pleasure for me to express myself enthusiastically and to use my arms when I am passionate about a topic. I do it, sometimes even during oral question period.

By-elections  The voters said goodbye to the Liberals' so-called sunny ways, which for many Albertans have only led to darker days, and looked ahead with hope in their eyes to many more days of clear blue skies. In yesterday's by-elections, Albertans broke through the buzzwords, ignored the selfies, and took a strong stance against the Liberal government. Albertans clearly rejected the Liberals' massive deficits, reckless spending, and plans for a job-killing carbon tax. I know that running in an election is incredibly gruelling.

The Budget  This is a buzzword budget from a buzzfeed Prime Minister that is all sizzle and no substance. Unfortunately, no list of the Prime Minister's 17 best selfies will get Canadians to take the government seriously. If the government was serious about national security, it would not be cutting the defence budget. If the government was serious about lifting up our economy, it would not be weighing it down with carbon taxes.

Government Advertising  Speaker, at festivals and events, at consulates and the Canadian embassy in the U.S., cardboard cut-outs of the Prime Minister have started appearing. Much like the real-life version of the Prime Minister, there were plenty of selfies but not much in the way of substance. The cut-outs are so vain that the Prime Minister probably thinks a certain Carly Simon song was about him. When Canadian seniors and families are paying for the Liberals' tax-and-spend agenda, who thought a cut-out was a good idea, and how much did it cost?

Government Accountability  The only thing predictable around here is that the Liberals will do whatever it takes, including rigging the rules, to avoid accountability. Predictably, the Prime Minister only likes to show up to places where it is all selfies, slogans, and superficiality, so when he finds an opposition instead of an audience, he predictably heads for the exit. Since he loves to be loved, will the Liberal whip demand his MPs start applauding the Prime Minister more often so that he could be predicted to maybe show up here for question period more than once a week?

Procedure and House Affairs committee  He's doing just fine, thank you. He's taking care of international business, being the Prime Minister, and doing the selfies—all the stuff that he does. He probably has a good chance of being re-elected in his riding, too, all politics being local. It doesn't do you any good to be a big-shot cabinet minister if you don't have a seat under you anymore.

Procedure and House Affairs committee  We are not insignificant or not worthy of having a government that works for us, because you do, after all, work for us, all of us. You should remember that. Rant over. Time for a selfie.” It's obviously someone who's frustrated. It wasn't a Liberal voter, so again, there are people here who support all different stripes of political parties, but they all seem to be united by one common thread.

Finance  Experts all agree that the vast majority of Canadians have less money in their pockets. The Liberals have no vision and they are trying to blind us with flash shots of Mr. Selfie. Spending blindly with nothing to show for it is irresponsible. When will this Liberal government finally be responsible and table a real budget to protect the future of our children and grandchildren?

Government Appointments  Mr. Speaker, we know that governing is hard, and there is more to it than taking selfies and holding hands. The Liberals have failed to make a single parliamentary watchdog appointed in their 18 months in government. It seems the only appointments the government can make are to friends and former chiefs of staff.

Natural Resources  Many admirers and partners will be there with him: ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Enbridge, TransCanada. It will make for some great selfies! This prestigious award tells us that this Prime Minister is the prime minister of oil companies. He is the prime minister of oil sands, dirty energy and pipelines. While the polluters are paying tribute to the Prime Minister, I would like to point out that Quebec has chosen green energy and sustainable development.

Veterans Affairs  Veterans are not interested in fake promises. The Liberals have been in government for over a year. A selfie picture is no substitute for real action. This decision needs to be fixed and there is a fix. The military ombudsman has given his report and made a recommendation that reads, “We recommend that the CAF determine whether an illness or injury is caused or aggravated by that member’s military service and that the CAF’s determination be presumed by VAC to be sufficient evidence to support an application for benefits.”

Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Implementation Act  That would be really ridiculous if it not for the Liberal government, which believes everyone is as dumb as a selfie photo message. That is not what trade agreements are about. If trade agreements were to allow for the development of small businesses and allow them to grow larger then that would be good trade, but we are seeing trade agreements that the government does not want to talk about that are protecting those at the top of the food chain.

Liberal Party of Canada  Speaker, 'Twas the weeks before Christmas, and the Liberals were spinning the max, Trekking across Canada promoting their carbon tax; Families and industries cried out in fear, Knowing the carbon tax was looming so near; With job losses growing, and unemployment rates high, The Liberals seem oblivious with their heads in the sky; Now Harper has retired they have no one to blame, As their tax and spend scheme goes up in flame; UN seats and selfies are the Prime Minister's goal, While neglecting good-paying jobs like mining of coal; The surplus we left them was gone in a flash, The trees in Liberal ridings must be growing them cash; Paying off their deficit will be no easy job, Hardworking Canadians are the ones they will rob; Deficits and tax hikes are the Liberal way, But fear not—soon Canadians will have their say, Election 19 will be one for the books, The Liberals won't win on their leader's good looks; Conservative voices will ring out with cheer, As we celebrate with family over a sweet victory beer.
