Child Care  Mr. Speaker, the government talks about real Canadian families. Let me tell members that they are wanting affordable child care spaces. This past weekend, parents in Vancouver marched to demand more affordable child care. They are paying as much as $15,000 a year for child care, and they are fed up.

Ethics  At the same time, on this side of the House, we are doing our best to ensure that our economy continues to grow and that the real Canadian taxpayers have money in their pockets so that they can reinvest in their future and in their family's future. We will continue doing that for a long time to come.

VIA Rail Canada Act  In addition to imposing a new legal framework on the carrier, we must finally develop a real Canadian passenger and freight transportation policy. The topic of land use must not be limited to the throne speech. We need to make our historical presence in the north and south a national priority.

Canadian Heritage committee  We are at a stage now where Victoria Day is insignificant. It's a nice holiday. Making it a holiday can diminish it, as opposed to a real Canadian belief that you have to get your butt down to the cenotaph, or you have to get the education system working properly to educate people about Canadian traditions and their history, which is much more important.

Taxation  The high-tax and high-debt NDP and Liberals need to stop listening to their elites, and start listening to real Canadian parents. Until they do, our Conservative government will continue to support moms and dads in making the best decisions for their families.

Infrastructure  When will the Minister of Finance come out from under his desk, wherever he is, and draw up a budget, fund cities, and get real Canadians working on real projects and real cities now?

National Strategy for Dementia Act  It has been three and a half years since this initiative first came forward. He has been all around the country. He has heard, not from statistics, but from real Canadians who are living with Alzheimer's and dementia and the tragedy that they entail, not just for the individuals, but for the caregivers. They are always forgotten in these discussions, and they must be acknowledged.

Canadian Heritage committee  Canadian writers and directors, who are finding major success on both sides of the border, want to work at home and make films that have not only Canadian sensibilities but feature real Canadian cities and stories. They are doing it: Cronenberg, Egoyan, Vallée, Villeneuve, Dowse, and Falardeau, to name a few. They are also finding success around the world, proving that Canadian films can be exported and the profits derived from them can be reinvested if ownership is kept in the hands of Canadians.

Agriculture committee  Every province in this country works very hard to make sure that when somebody puts a product on the shelf that's called “Canadian whisky”, it is real Canadian whisky, made under the food and drug rules. We've very proud of the fact that we produce Crown Royal, which is a leading international whisky brand in Manitoba, but I would say that every province recognizes the quality and integrity and protects those things around our products.

Procedure and House Affairs committee  Could you give me again a bit of an overview of how you would plan to authenticate that the signatures that were e-filed were actually those of real Canadian citizens instead of bogus names?

Dairy Farming  Most importantly, we should keep the fridge full of milk, yogourt, and cheese, and of course enjoy the best treat of summer with some real Canadian ice cream.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 1  The Conservatives are again demonstrating that they are out of touch with the views of real Canadians. They are focusing their efforts instead on producing a do-nothing budget that ignores what Canadians need right now, and are in pursuit of a balanced budget during an election year.

Louise Arbour Secondary School  On behalf of all my colleagues in the House, I would like to thank and congratulate the students for standing up for real Canadian values.

Citizenship and Immigration committee  The so-called politically correct attitude of showing them accommodation must not be there. This is putting the real Canadians, the original Canadians, at a disadvantage, this show of accommodation. I know that the former immigration minister, Jason Kenney, did cause some sense of déjà vu as far as the reformation of the immigration system was concerned, but this bill doesn't go the whole way it should have gone.
