Lotbinière Relay for Life  Mr. Speaker, I was very proud to agree to be the honorary chair for the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life in Lotbinière, which will take place on June 11, 2022, in Saint-Apollinaire. At Relay for Life events, which first began in 1999, participants of all ages gather and take turns walking around a track or path to symbolize the perseverance of those affected by cancer and to send them a message of hope.

The Economy  Madam Speaker, according to the thinly veiled words of former finance minister Bill Morneau, the Liberal government's spending spree has contributed to inflation in Canada, taking money out of the pockets of thousands of Canadian families because everything costs more. This is further evidence of Liberal incompetence, as this government has totally lost control of spending.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship  Mr. Speaker, Liberal inaction has struck again, creating an unprecedented vicious cycle for Canadian entrepreneurs who are facing a labour shortage hell. This is yet another issue on top of the problems with EI, passports, foreign workers, permanent residency and identity theft in Canada.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship  Mr. Speaker, the temporary foreign worker saga continues. A number of businesses in my riding received their confirmation letters of a positive labour market impact assessment on April 15, 2022, after more than eight months of waiting. That is far too long and the process is not even complete.

Preserving Provincial Representation in the House of Commons Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for his speech. He did not say much about the substance of Bill C-14, but I have one question for him. What advice should we be giving the commissioners who will be redrawing Quebec's boundaries, in order to avoid mistakes? I am certain they are watching right now.

Preserving Provincial Representation in the House of Commons Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for his speech. The commissioners need to work on boundary redistribution in Quebec. The bill is going to set the number of ridings at 77 or 78. Does my colleague think it is important to set this number as soon as possible?

Economic and Fiscal Update Implementation Act, 2021  Madam Speaker, the economic update presented by the Minister of Finance last fall did not include a single item or line about the possibility of increasing interest rates. The same is true of the recent budget. The minister has completely ignored any such increase, which demonstrates the level of Liberal incompetence.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, in the saga of the Prime Minister's illegal vacations, involving a trip that even Canadians cannot afford, there are some grey areas with respect to the Prime Minister's authority to hold himself above the law. Did the Prime Minister hamstring the RCMP in order to shield himself from the facts and a fresh scandal?

The Economy  Mr. Speaker, today, the NDP‑Liberal government is presenting its inflationary budget that in no way responds to Canadians' economic realities. Every time this government intervenes in Canadians' lives, they wind up poorer. Will the NDP‑Liberal government have the courage to take meaningful action to combat inflation?

The Economy  Mr. Speaker, the response from the NDP‑Liberal government is not reassuring anyone. Food prices are up, clothing prices are up, transportation prices are up, housing prices are up and the price of recreational activities is up. The NDP‑Liberal government has not thought this through, so taxes are up and the carbon tax is up.

An Act for the Substantive Equality of Canada’s Official Languages  Madam Speaker, I congratulate my colleague on her excellent French. It is a testament to what is possible right across Canada. Could my colleague say a few words about the Liberal government's failure with respect to francophone immigration? Since 2015, 2.5 million immigrants have entered Canada.

An Act for the Substantive Equality of Canada’s Official Languages  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for that very interesting question. One thing the government can do is prioritize francophone economic class immigration, especially in provinces like Alberta. There is currently a shortage of francophone teachers in Alberta, which means that not all Canadians who want to learn French can do so.

An Act for the Substantive Equality of Canada’s Official Languages  Mr. Speaker, I remind my colleague that our former government implemented two road maps. We were the first to invest more than $1.1 billion. This had never been done before. Furthermore, we made education a priority in these road maps and allocated as much money as possible to this priority.

An Act for the Substantive Equality of Canada’s Official Languages  Mr. Speaker, we are witnessing a historic event, the modernization of the Official Languages Act. As parliamentarians, we should all take our time, even though the government seems to be rushing us and asking us to cut corners. Nevertheless, we truly intend to work with the government and work in committee stage by stage and line by line on this bill.
