Business of Supply  This is massive corruption and fraud on a scale not seen in Canada in my recent memory, which is longer, I think, than that of some of the people here; at least, I am told that frequently. What we have is a situation where last night we actually summoned, and it was the only way we could get him, former minister Navdeep Bains to the industry committee.

Public Safety committee  Appropriate due diligence is not being exercised when it appears that all parties, with what we view as good intentions, are inadvertently rushing to make significant changes to our national security infrastructure without adequate checks and balances through longer, rigorous and informed study. Subject to any questions, those form our submissions. Thank you.

Petitions  I urge the Minister of Health to prioritize this critical issue and swiftly respond to the demands outlined in the petition. Canadians with cystic fibrosis cannot wait any longer for essential treatments.

Public Safety committee  Earlier in questioning, Mr. Caputo insinuated that anyone who receives a security clearance can no longer do work in the topic area of, for example, foreign interference if their clearance has allowed them to do that work. Mr. Motz and I received security clearances and worked on the 2019 foreign interference review of NSICOP, yet here we are asking important questions, raising important issues and not breaching the indoctrination requirements that we signed, which we are committed to for life, not just for our time on NSICOP.

Human Resources committee  They emphasized in a report to their council that, again, decades of underfunding have led them to a point where they can no longer afford to pay for these things on the local tax base. Your organization was left to its own devices for a period of time. How did you manage through those years? Were there any federal supports that you might have accessed between the years of the early 1990s and today?

Official Languages committee  Instead the province appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada. As a result, the matter was no longer within Judge LeBlanc's jurisdiction, and he therefore lost the necessary authority to compel the province to report from time to time. I bet you can guess what happened next.

Justice committee  We have seen Muslim communities being targeted with Islamophobia because they support the Palestinian people and Palestinian human rights. We can't hide from this fact any longer, and this government needed to address this yesterday. There are no parts of our anti-racism strategy or anti-hate strategies that address anti-Palestinian racism. These strategies must name, define and address anti-Palestinian racism in Canada.

Public Safety committee  Please take note of the following preventative measures in place to protect the health and safety of all participants, particularly the interpreters. Only use an approved black earpiece. The former grey earpieces must no longer be used. Keep your earpiece away from all microphones at all times. When you're not using the earpiece, place it face down on the sticker placed on the table for this purpose. Today's meeting is taking place in a hybrid format.

Public Safety committee  It would simply be a matter of saying that the act will no longer be valid if no review is done. This method is sometimes used by the Americans. It's like an atomic bomb, but something like this could be done. We could say that if the review doesn't take place, that would mean a few provisions of the act are no longer valid, or we could provide for a penalty, so to speak.

Government Operations committee  No, no one from that office has contacted me. To get back to what I was saying at the beginning, the fact that the emails are no longer on my laptop because of some kind of data corruption does not mean they no longer exist. These emails exist in all the other mailboxes of all the employees who sent me emails or received emails from me, and they can be obtained for the purposes of study or investigation.

Government Operations committee  Like most Canadians, I would prefer to not make my health issues public. However, as a result of some comments made in this committee, this is no longer possible. In 2015, I had a heart attack, was rushed to the hospital, underwent emergency surgery and had two stents installed. I have had attacks of angina since. Stress has direct and life-threatening ramifications for me.

Health  By accelerating the review process, we are committed to ensuring that potentially life-saving treatments reach patients without unnecessary delays. It is important to note that timing for the completion of Health Canada's reviews depends on many factors, including timelines for receiving requested additional data or information, discussions with the sponsors, and the acceptability and completeness of the information submitted.

Government Operations committee  What I do have is just testimony and what I've seen from publicly available information. I am still on medical leave. As I prepared for this committee, I did not reach into CBSA to access files or documents. I limited myself to what was publicly available—committee hearings, The Globe and Mail, and other things—while prioritizing my health. However, from everything I've seen and heard so far, including meetings at Lansdowne and other places, the relationship wouldn't be there.

Government Operations committee  We'll leave it with the clerk to reach out to Shared Services and CBSA, and hopefully we'll have an answer Monday, and then we can move forward from there. That's perfect. Mr. Genuis, go ahead, please.

Government Operations committee  I can make a motion along those lines. It could be very simple, that the committee reach out to CBSA and Shared Services Canada and ask whether an intact backup of Mr. Doan's emails exists. It is so moved.
