Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I would like to give my hon. colleague from Alberta, a man who is very well known in Quebec because he spent a good part of his childhood living there, the opportunity to talk about how Quebec sees dental care. Is this an area of shared jurisdiction or does it fall under Quebec's jurisdiction?

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would also like to put a question to my hon. colleague, who indicated that the provinces would be interested in participating in this type of program. I know that my province of Quebec staunchly defends itself from any federal interference in the health system. Does my colleague know if other provinces are prepared to sign on to this type of bill?

Privacy  Mr. Speaker, first of all I would like to thank my hon. colleague for the suggestion he has so kindly made just now. I hope we will have the opportunity to discuss it further. As I said, the government is committed to protecting the privacy of Canadians. The Government of Canada has a very strong investigative and security system and provides extensive privacy training to its public servants.

Privacy  Mr. Speaker, it is my pleasure to rise in the House to follow up on the response that I provided to my hon. colleague from Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. The government takes protecting Canadians' privacy very seriously. This protection is part of every aspect of our decision-making process.

Infrastructure  Mr. Speaker, I completely understand why my hon. colleague does not want to talk about the history of the Auditor General. After all, his party's chapter in that history is pretty bleak. The Conservatives slashed the Auditor General's budget. Since taking office in 2015, our government has not only increased the Auditor General's budget, but also erased the previous cuts.

Infrastructure  Mr. Speaker, a joke keeps playing in my head, but it is better if I keep it to myself. We can talk about it after the debate. It is a pleasure for me to rise in the House of Commons to speak to the significance of the Auditor General's role. As everyone in the House knows, the Auditor General provides Parliament with independent, impartial audits of the management of public funds.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, you will understand that I completely disagree with my hon. colleague's analysis. I have an important question. Does the hon. member believe that if we follow the recommendation in the motion moved by the Conservatives, that will lead to lasting peace? I sincerely ask the hon. member to think about the Oka situation before she answers.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I appreciate your patience, since I am asking every speaker the same question. I think it is important, and I have rarely gotten an answer from the Conservatives on this. My question is the same. Does the member truly believe that using force to resolve this situation will lead to lasting peace in this country?

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would like to follow up on my colleague's very interesting speech by asking him if he thinks the authorities should use force when a blockade is put up on first nations territory. Contrary to the hon. member for Louis-Saint-Laurent's question, Premier Legault clearly stated that the only reason he is not ruling out police intervention is that the blockade is not on first nations territory.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague from Quebec for that very interesting and balanced speech. Based on our shared experience of what happened at Oka, can she explain why it is a bad idea to use force instead of holding talks to find a longer-term solution?

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to ask a question along the same lines as the one asked by the member for Lac-Saint-Jean. Quebec aluminum is extremely important. I know my colleague explained that Quebec was the source of the aluminum that is exported to the United States and later returns to his riding.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I do not have the experience of my colleague from British Columbia, but I have had the honour and the privilege of working in federal politics for decades. I remember that, in 2005 or 2006, the World Trade Organization examined a softwood lumber dispute between Canada and the U.S.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to congratulate my colleague, a veteran MP, on his analysis of this agreement. My question is very simple. We have been hearing a lot of outrage and concern about aluminum even though we know international trade rules have anti-dumping provisions that apply in Canada.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, this is the second time in three days that I have heard opposition members refer to hon. members in the House using language that I would view as unparliamentary. I wonder if the member, whom I know and who is an honourable woman, could choose better language when referring to all members, all of her colleagues in the House of Commons.

Privacy  Mr. Speaker, as I just said, the security of Canadians' personal information is very important to our government. Our government is determined to safeguard the personal information of Canadians, as well as government information. Every employee receives training on security measures.
