Health  It is hurting families in communities across Canada. We are already supporting a health-based approach to substance use at the federal level through the Canadian drugs and substances strategy, which has been comprehensive, compassionate, collaborative and evidence-based.

Business of Supply  It is unfortunate to use a term like “fraternity”, which is steeped in sexism, but we agree that those occasions are good. On the topic of what the King could do on his first trip to Canada, acknowledging the wrongdoings is, first and foremost, the most important thing a king needs to do as a leader.

Health  Madam Speaker, I appreciate that clarification. I will be honest: It was not a mistake. It happens all the time. It is an effort to catch parliamentary secretaries with a speech or a response that has nothing to do with the question, so the member opposite can stand up and say that the parliamentary secretary is not answering their question.

Dental Care  In addition to that, the burden of dental disease is concentrated in those from low-income families, indigenous children, new immigrants and children with special health-related needs. By putting this benefit in place, our government is taking action. When will the Conservatives—

Canada Disability Benefit Act  Madam Speaker, I am happy to chime in today on this very important bill. Also, this debate is occurring on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. I am sure my hon. colleague is aware of this important day. I am also really glad to hear there is a community food centre in his riding.

Health  This applies to COVID-19 vaccines as well as other vaccine-preventable diseases, as we are seeing outbreaks in the circulation of measles, polio and meningococcal diseases in other countries. It has been almost two years since Health Canada approved the first vaccines for COVID‑19 in Canada.

Health  Mr. Speaker, on this side of the House our government will continue to make sure we are putting the health of Canadians first, because nobody wants another wave or more lockdowns due to COVID-19. Let us talk about what some of the Conservatives are saying about vaccination.

Questions on the Order Paper  With regard to (d), the scientific evidence used to inform Canada’s international border measures was based on the epidemiological situation in Canada, the global body of epidemiological evidence on COVID-19, and the effectiveness of related public health measures and global trends. Canadian measures are implemented in the interest of the health and safety of the Canadian public.

Health committee  The food and drug regulations include a framework for the exceptional importation and sale of drugs that are not otherwise licensed in Canada. The intention of that framework is to help ensure that Canadians have access to critical drugs when there is a shortage due to supply or demand issues. In critical shortage situations, Health Canada will never hesitate to accept foreign products as long as they meet Canada's very high health and safety requirements.

Health committee  In your work and experience, do kids in lower-income Canadian households typically have access to the same oral health care as their middle-class and wealthier neighbours do?

Health committee  If it's not currently being spent as efficiently as other countries, then I want to investigate how we could be doing more and better with the money that's currently being spent before we react with more health care transfers to provinces. I really appreciate the intervention from Madame Roy with respect to the upstream challenge of health care, primarily from a mental health perspective, but a physical perspective as well in preventative medicine and trying to provide better conditions rather than only just mental health services.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, in response to (a), in bringing the front-of-package, FOP, regulations forward, the government has given careful consideration and analyzed in detail the potential costs and benefits of its plan to inform Canadians of nutrients of concern in their food. All regulatory packages go through a rigorous cost-benefit analysis, which is summarized in the regulatory impact analysis statement, RIAS, published with the regulations.

Hurricane Fiona  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank the member for the great speech this evening and express condolences to his community and everybody across Atlantic Canada, throughout the Maritimes as well as in Quebec, and to all those who have been impacted by this tragic storm. Like many members of this House, I have spent a lot of time in Nova Scotia.
