Finance committee  In the motion, we said we had until Friday, this week, to send in our witness list. I want to make it clear that the session on this study next week will be with the witnesses we invite, not with departmental officials. We will invite the latter to appear when we have the text of the bill.

Finance committee  I'm just trying to get everything clear here.

Health committee  I'm just throwing this out there because we haven't had time to fully consider the whole thing. I wonder if there's an appetite for amending the motion. I haven't even cleared this with my own party, but I'm suggesting there might be an appetite for this wording: That, given that the federally created Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care decided not to lower the breast cancer screening age guidelines, and that, Breast Cancer Canada said it was “deeply concerned” by the task force's guidelines, the committee report to the House that the decision by the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care should be immediately reconsidered and that consideration be given to extending breast cancer screening to women in their 40s....

Business of Supply  They are poorer. The GDP reduction proves that this is harmful to the economy, and the PBO has been clear all along that the economic cost of the carbon tax does not make Canadians wealthier.

Finance committee  We're starting clause-by-clause no later than three weeks. If we could have the clerk read out where we are, just so we're all clear, and then everyone's voting on....

Health committee  I think science is against you, I think public opinion is against you, and I think history will stand against you and say that the decisions you have chosen to make here are inappropriate. I want to be clear. I like my colleague Dr. Hanley. I respect his decision. That being said, if we do not make a loud noise about this, the difficulty that will persist is that we will continue to send mixed messages to provinces and to Canadian women.

Business of Supply  The PBO has said this. The data that the government has released supports the PBO's conclusions. The PBO was clear that this data would support his conclusions when he testified before the finance committee a couple of weeks ago. There are enormous problems facing this country, some of which have been raised by members of all sides in this debate so far today.

Transport committee  Is it normal to head to a northern community to save a life and not know whether the runway is cleared properly, not know what the weather conditions are and not have access to de‑icing equipment? These challenges must be addressed in a context where our activities are carried out 24 hours a day, and their impact on the stress level of the crews and, by extension, on the level of risk to transportation safety must be considered.

Procedure and House Affairs committee  What we're looking at is not only the question of privilege but also the question of who's responsible for making sure MPs know. Throughout this study, we have not had a clear indication. Everyone, as you said, says, “Oh, it's their responsibility, or it's their responsibility.” We want to correct that, obviously. You also mentioned something about how it's changed the way you do the work that you do.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, let us be very clear about the housing crisis and what has caused it. Successive Liberal governments and Conservative governments have helped to create the housing crisis we are in by allowing for the financialization of housing and for big developers to use renovictions to displace people so that they lose their homes.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, it is clear that the Liberal government has no credibility when it comes to subsidies for the oil companies. Let us not forget that the public investment in developing the Trans Mountain pipeline was enormous.

Business of Supply  We cannot pretend that this is not happening and that somehow the carbon tax is to blame. Let us just be clear about who is to blame and what action we need to take. Big oil needs to take responsibility, and those companies need to be held to account. The government, the Liberals, refuse to take the action that is necessary to deal with the climate crisis.

Health committee  There's a mindset that has accumulated and has been concentrated within the membership of the task force that tends to be like-minded on the subject and demonstrates a fairly clear bias against screening.

Business of Supply  Why do they continue to give Pathways Alliance such a free pass, when it is making $68 billion in profits and it has made it clear that it has no intention of lessening its emissions unless we pay for it? It wants us to pay 70% of the costs of this carbon capture scheme, which even it admits does not work. That is it.
