Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, we all join with members of this House in condemning the terrible crime that took place and expressing our heartfelt sorrow for those taken from us, for their family and for their community. Let me be very clear. This terrible crime was an act of hatred and of terror.

We have also made significant investments of $327 million in law enforcement's ability to do gun and gang investigations, a budget measure that the member voted against.

As part of this, we continue to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force as a terrorist entity. In 2019, we added three additional Iran-backed groups to the Criminal Code list as terrorist entities.

We have also made significant investments in communities and kids to address the causes of gun crime, all of which the member opposite voted against, by the way.

I will also say that we have been in contact with the police of jurisdiction with respect to the recent spike in gun violence.

Correctional Service of Canada  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member opposite for his concern for our corrections workers and our inmates. We share that concern. I am very pleased to tell him that Correctional Service of Canada has done extraordinary work throughout the entire course of the pandemic to ensure that people working in our corrections facilities were provided with personal protection equipment.
