They do a thorough job and they make sure they protect our national interests. Automotive Industry  Mr. Speaker, make no mistake, we are going to back our auto workers 100%. We have always had their back. Since we formed government, there has been a total investment of $5.6 billion in the automotive sector, and that is because we have stepped up in a big way to support the sector and to support the workers.

The minister's recommendations, including the maximum potential contribution, were made on a balance of considerations, informed by a rigorous assessment process.

The Economy  Mr. Speaker, unfortunately, I disagree with my colleague, because we have a very good process in place. The process that we have is actually being led by the Competition Bureau, which enforces the Competition Act. They look at price fixing, price maintenance, and the abuse of dominance in the market with respect to gasoline prices.

Telecommunications  Mr. Speaker, as the member for Oakville mentioned, today we officially launched a review of the broadcasting and the telecommunications acts. This is very timely and very important because of the changing technology. We need to make sure that we have modern legislation in place to keep pace with the changes that are occurring, specifically around net neutrality, as the member mentioned.

Consumer Protection  Mr. Speaker, the member knows full well that we brought changes to the regulations to update PIPEDA, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. These regulatory changes are very important, because if any private entity, a bank or otherwise, suffers lost or stolen data, they must report it immediately to the individual and to the Privacy Commissioner.
