Judges Act  Mr. Speaker, I think this is an impactful bill. It will help shorten these processes, establish a mechanism to deal with complaints ranging from the less serious to the more serious, and ensure that the misconduct is punished. Does my colleague agree with fast-tracking the adoption of this bill?

Judges Act  Mr. Speaker, we know very well that there are currently problems with the process for appointing judges and that some judges have abused their power. There was a case in my riding. A judge who was appointed used all the provisions until the end of his so-called process, then retired without facing any consequences.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for her speech. I think you often double down on previous motions that were already defeated in the House, such as eliminating consumer taxes, immediately ending health measures and abolishing the carbon tax. Clearly these proposals do not really help people cope with the global issue of inflation that is affecting a number of essential products and services, nor do they do anything beyond addressing prices of individual products.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her speech. However, I find it a bit ridiculous that we are talking about masks and the fact that people are wearing used masks. The government has not come up with a postpandemic plan. I am well aware of that. However, there are still solutions, and there are restrictions that must be kept in place at airports.

Arab Heritage Month Act  Madam Speaker, I am proud to rise today to speak to this bill introduced by the member for Ottawa South. As everyone knows, this bill would designate the month of April as Arab heritage month. The Bloc Québécois supports the principle of this bill. We are pleased to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions that the Arab community has made to Quebec society.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, earlier my colleague was talking about dependency. I must say that it is a bit contradictory, since the NDP members are dependent on the Liberals. Also, the motion moved by his party denounces the tax credit created in the budget, when the NDP voted in favour of that budget.

Online News Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague from Abitibi—Témiscamingue for his wonderful speech. We are talking about Bill C-18, which is about privacy protections and ending the destruction of regional media. We really need our regional media. Better informing the public and ensuring better oversight of technology is about protecting democracy.

Online News Act  Mr. Speaker, Bill C-18 sets out, in black and white, the rules that the various media players must follow to ensure much healthier competition and quality content for everyone. It is no secret that small media outlets are in immediate need of financial assistance from the government.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague from New Brunswick Southwest for his fine speech. We know how important technology is and how serious the repercussions can be if there is no oversight. China has so much economic power that any direct or indirect support for Taiwan would have serious repercussions for Canada's economy, given that a large part of the supply chain is in China.

National Nursing Week  Mr. Speaker, this week is National Nursing Week and I would like to take a moment to highlight the tremendous contribution that nurses make to our society. This is nothing new, but it is all the more evident since the pandemic. This year's theme is #WeAnswerTheCall. Entirely appropriate, I think.

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for that interesting speech. I have to say that Bill C‑19 has its flaws, starting with the health transfers that Quebec and the provinces asked for. Nevertheless, I also have to say that there are some good things in it, such as the green transition, extending employment insurance by five weeks for seasonal workers and so on.

Online Streaming Act  Madam Speaker, Bill C‑11 is essential. The report is quite clear. We must require web giants to invest in our news coverage and our fiction and entertainment programming. It is not a question of money, it is a question of culture. I would like to know why the member is disputing these fundamental principles.

Online Streaming Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. He spoke about how important this is in our society, and everyone knows that Quebec's and Canada's cultural sectors have been waiting for decades for updates to this legislation. Just a few days after Bill C‑11 was introduced, the cultural sector made a very simple request, that we adopt this bill as quickly as possible.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls  Madam Chair, I thank my colleague for her speech. During tonight's take-note debate, we spoke about the violence perpetrated against women and murdered women. This kind of violence happens all the time. I would like my colleague to tell us about recognizing and understanding the root causes of this violence in order to support indigenous people in their recovery.
