Finance committee  What percentage of farmers will get 100% recovery of the carbon tax?

Finance committee  We can tell that case studies have already been done. It will be between 30 and 40 cents on the dollar that they will get back. That's what the agriculture community tells us, so we can say that an exemption is far better for farmers when we look at the percentage of recovery. Next, we look at equity.

Finance committee  I'd like to go just a bit further on that train. One of the other things that can actually happen as well is that, if we go the the other way and start declining in economic growth instead of growing the economy, when that growth reduces it actually reduces the amount of income for the government, because obviously it's a tax base.

Finance committee  Thank you very much, and it's an honour, obviously, to appear at the finance committee. I'm going to focus most of my questions on Mr. Lee here. I want to speak plainly about this and get his comments on some of my comments. It's my belief that the more products we build, the more workers we have, the more services we deliver, the more prosperous we are as a nation.
