Carbon Tax  Our government will stand up against the NDP leader's job-killing carbon tax and against his party's now hidden socialist spending promises.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada  The person pushing this $20 billion job-killing carbon tax is none other than the leader of the NDP.

New Democratic Party of Canada  Yesterday my NDP colleague from Scarborough Southwest said that his party will offer practical solutions. What he fails to mention is that the NDP solution is a new $21 billion job-killing carbon tax. He says their solutions will be fair, but that is NDP code for “it will cost all Canadians dearly”. The NDP's job-killing carbon tax will raise the price of everything from gas to groceries to electricity.

We have Canada's economic action plan. Through the economic action plan, we are creating jobs by reforming the on-reserve education system, in partnership with first nations, through the first nations control of first nations education act.

New Democratic Party of Canada  Mr. Speaker, when the Liberal Party asked Canadians for a mandate to implement a job-killing carbon tax, they flatly rejected it. No matter to the NDP leader; he is ignoring Canadians' position and is peddling a similar, more expensive carbon tax. In fact, if he gets his way, the NDP leader would impose a new $20 billion job-killing carbon tax.

The New Democratic Party of Canada  Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for the leader of the NDP and his party. The leader of the NDP and his party plan to raise $20 billion from a shameful job-killing carbon tax. The leader of the NDP has said that of course he has a cap-and-trade program that “will produce billions”. Hard-working Canadians cannot afford a $20-billion job-killing carbon tax that would raise the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity.

Consumer Protection  That is why we welcome the Competition Bureau's action this week to defend consumers against skyrocketing roaming fees that increase wireless prices and lead to less wireless choice. While the opposition continues to call for job-killing carbon taxes and legalizing marijuana, we will continue to put Canadian families first.

Air Transportation  We continue to monitor the situation and will take whatever measures are required to ensure consumers are treated fairly. While we are working hard for Canadian consumers, the NDP's $20 billion job-killing carbon tax would ruin the airline industry. They have asked me and this government to continue to fight against this $20 billion job-killing carbon tax and oppose the $56-billion reckless, unaccounted for, and numberless spending plan.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada  Not only would they raise corporate taxes, payroll taxes, income taxes and the GST, but the leader of the NDP and his party would impose a $20-billion job-killing carbon tax to pay for his $56-billion reckless spending plan. Canadians simply cannot afford to have these risky policies the NDP would impose on the backs of hard-working Canadians. On behalf of Canadians, we demand that the leader of the NDP come clean on the details of his $20-billion job-killing carbon tax and on his $56-billion reckless spending plan.
