Yves Michaud  Mr. Speaker, today I want to pay tribute to a great constituent and a great Quebecker. I recently had the pleasure of bestowing, with my own hands, an honorary plaque acknowledging the full life and career of Yves Michaud. Originally from Saint‑Hyacinthe, he cut his teeth as a war correspondent and editorial writer at Clairon de Saint‑Hyacinthe.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, our colleague across the aisle spent a lot of his time complaining about the issues the Bloc Québécois has chosen to address. Today, it is the report of the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology. He reminded the House that we devoted some opposition days to the issues of prayer and the monarchy, reminding us these were not real issues in his mind, that there were more important issues.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I agree, but let me rephrase a few things. First of all, the member talked about helicopters made in Quebec. Indeed, we have Bell Textron, an amazing company. However, it is really sad that Bell Textron has never been able to bid on federal government contracts. Is that a coincidence?

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, yes, it is somewhat incomprehensible. Honestly, I, too, am trying to find the logic in that. My colleague's interpretation makes sense. It is quite possible that this was indeed meant to make it up to the Americans, but that is ridiculous. Many countries do not even accept competitive bidding processes because defence is considered too sensitive a sector for that.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I work with my colleague who sits on the committee. Clearly, these demands will not be ignored. Of course, this also concerns the regions, as was mentioned a little earlier. The aerospace industry is not just in Montreal. It is also present in many places, in many areas.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I am truly pleased to rise in the House today and say a few words about the aerospace report that was tabled by the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology. I should say “finally” tabled, considering that we have been calling for a study of this key sector for years.

Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act  Madam Speaker, I really appreciated the speech our Conservative colleague just gave. I respect the fact that he supports the bill despite being a federalist, and I thank him for it. As my colleagues know, we are a separatist party. Consequently, taxation power is a crucial issue for us, because it is central to and inherent in the very principle of political sovereignty.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, I request a recorded division.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her eloquent presentation. The parts about carbon capture caught my attention. It seems to me that it has practically become a new religion. It is all we hear about. It is portrayed as a miracle solution. It will be universal, and it will bring happiness to the entire planet.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, we heard my colleague on the other side of the House talk about a clean, green economy. Why then is there not so much as a hint of any transition plan to end fossil fuel subsidies? When I talk about ending subsidies, I do not mean tomorrow morning. People who work in the sector are not going to lose their jobs.

Online Streaming Act  Mr. Speaker, I have a lot of questions about what we have been hearing from the Liberal side today. Let us forget about Bill C‑11 for a second, because I think our colleague has set the record straight. He reminded us that it was actually the Bloc Québécois that proposed fast-tracking it two years ago because of a likely election, meaning the session would end.

Aerospace Industry  Mr. Speaker, Ottawa is betraying Quebec's aerospace industry. Commenting on the budget, Aéro Montréal laments the lack of meaningful measures to help SMEs. As if that were not enough, Ottawa is actually undermining our industry. The Liberals are handing Boeing a $9‑billion military contract on a silver platter, excluding Bombardier and not giving Quebec one penny in economic spinoffs.

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, it would seem that Ottawa is doing it on purpose. Not only is there nothing in the budget for the future of the aerospace industry, but the Liberals are maintaining a poorly named and ill-conceived luxury tax that will prevent our industry from selling its planes at competitive prices.

Online Streaming Act  Madam Speaker, I laughed a lot during our colleague's speech. It was very colourful, but, at the same time, the substance of it was very worrisome. When the leader of the official opposition gave a long speech to oppose Bill C-11, he went on and on singing the praises of the free market.

Pierre‑Luc Leblanc  Mr. Speaker, today I wish to pay tribute to one of my constituents, a worthy and dedicated citizen from the great riding of Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot. Ten years ago, Pierre-Luc Leblanc became the youngest-ever president of the Éleveurs de volailles du Québec, the Quebec poultry farmers' association.
