Subcommittee on International Human Rights committee  There are almost no neighbourhoods or regions of the capital and the area around it that are not directly or indirectly affected by the actions of the armed groups. The explosion in the price of fuel is also a very important dimension of the current crisis. Oil is the only energy source available in Haiti. A severe shortage of gasoline has disrupted the water supply, in addition to shutting down the economy as a whole.

Public Safety committee  In terms of definitions, there are different ways to go at it. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the United States has a list of criteria that can be used to determine whether or not a weapon is military-style. I think California also has a definition, which includes all semi-automatics that can accommodate magazines and have at least one other military feature.

Public Safety  Speaker, text messages released to the Public Order Emergency Commission confirmed that RCMP Commissioner Lucki sought to use a messaging app that would prevent deleted messages from being retrieved by investigators. I guess she learned a lesson from former Liberal operative Dan Brien, who recorded explosive audio evidence that exposed the minister's attempt to interfere in a police investigation. The Liberals know they can hide their wrongdoing by using covert apps and deleting evidence, but Canadians are catching on to them.

Agriculture committee  A reliable food supply, resource availability, the location of arable land and solid research hubs represent the strengths of our agri-food sector. Not only that, but opportunities around the world are opening up because of the explosion in demand for emerging markets, and the growing number of constraints around the world in terms of land, water, energy and carbon emissions. Our agri-food exports have continued to grow in spite of challenges in the sector, and totalled $82 billion in 2021, exceeding the previous objective, which was to increase agri-food exports to at least $75 billion by the year 2025.

Criminal Code  It is also important to note that the Cullen commission report clearly states that it was the Harper government that made a very significant contribution to the explosion of money laundering in Canada when its 2012 cutbacks to the RCMP caused the closing down of the integrated proceeds of crime units, which it had been operating in each province from 1990 to 2012.

Fisheries committee  Whether it is a plastic weak link or a nylon sleeve, when it comes out of the water and goes around the block—the pulley that's over the side of the boat before it gets to the hauler—that's where the majority of the failures occur. The explosion of that plastic was right where my crew would be standing. It would have exploded in their faces. We made sure they were far enough away from that. However, that's just gear that made it to the surface.

Information & Ethics committee  The first one is that last year, 52% of the access requests overall were directed to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. It was an explosion of requests that I had never seen before. There were 145,000 directed to that particular department. I think it would be fair to say that it's a bit of an abuse of process. Access requests are not designed to provide records or access to records to applicants for immigration and so on and so forth.

Justice committee  There was a great deal of misinformation on social media in particular—we all saw bits of it without seeing all of it—that all of a sudden, if you were intoxicated, this was a “get out of jail free” card. This was a pass. It was an explosion of misinformation. We needed to correct it quickly. Even though this was only a rare case and even though that wasn't true, it didn't matter; people felt it was. By closing this admittedly small gap, we could reinforce the larger message, which is that if you get drunk, you will be held responsible.

Foreign Affairs committee  I'd like to use the time with you here today to seek some more technical information. I understand that you're an engineer as well. On September 26, there were explosions in the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. I understand that Nord Stream 1 was completely disabled by the explosion. Can you give us a sense of what the damage was to Nord Stream 1 versus Nord Stream 2?

Environment committee  He came down to the area and toured it with me. He also went out to the Leamington area for the hawk festival. There's been a real explosion with regard to this, which has been really great. There are a couple of other properties outside of that. Once we get this defined, we might have better consensus in terms of increasing the spots.

Business of Supply  I record every purchase I get, so I compare what It would have cost last year to what it will cost this year.” I would continue, but frustration with heating costs led this person to some very explosive language that would be considered unparliamentary in this place. For those watching at home who may not be familiar with the nuts and bolts of what is actually happening today, allow me to briefly explain.

Committees of the House  The recent report of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine concluded that war crimes had been committed in Ukraine. It reports that: The Russian Federation’s use of explosive weapons with wide area effects in populated areas was a source of immense harm and suffering for civilians. Witnesses provided consistent accounts of ill-treatment and torture carried out during unlawful confinement.

Hurricane Fiona  Provinces like Nova Scotia are no stranger to this type of strengthened sense of community after experiencing a tragedy. In 1917, another historic event happened in the province when a cargo ship carrying explosives collided with a steamship in Halifax Harbour. At the time, the world had never known a man-made explosion of that magnitude, and the devastation was immense. However, it only took a couple of hours after the Halifax explosion before trains started making their way toward the city to deliver supplies and people willing to lend a hand at the city's darkest moment.
