Air Transportation  These premiers included Sandy Silver from the Yukon, John Horgan from B.C., Jason Kenney from Alberta, Scott Moe from Saskatchewan, François Legault in Quebec and Doug Ford in Ontario. All these premiers have asked a question, and I believe it is a reasonable ask. I would like it answered from whoever will be representing the Minister of Transport this evening.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  We could apply it specifically to long-term care homes so that we would not have to beg Premier Doug Ford to send in the military. The federal government could do it.

Criminal Code  In Ontario's Superior Court, where the government continues to lose against St. Anne's, the attorney general for Doug Ford's government came forward to support the survivors of St. Anne's, while the minister, who represents the riding of Toronto—St. Paul's, sent her lawyers to fight them. The Ontario attorney general agreed that these were cruel and unusual tactics.

The Economy  Therefore, let me quote someone he might find a little more simpatico, Ontario's Conservative premier Doug Ford. Here is what he has had to say: “Now more than ever, we need to support our own.... During #COVID19 business supported communities and healthcare workers, now it’s time to support them as consumers.”

Natural Resources committee  I think there is a lot of concern that there are more cuts coming in this area and in the area of the environment, and you have a Greenbelt Council and David Crombie who agree with that concern. I really do hope that this ministry is not a source for Doug Ford to balance a budget, but a ministry to really focus in on sustainability in the future, sir. Thank you, Mr. Chair. I think that's my time.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, we heard during some of the other speeches today that premiers across Canada are very concerned with their lack of information. We have heard quotes from Scott Moe in Saskatchewan and Doug Ford in Ontario, and certainly from the Premier of Quebec and premiers in the Atlantic provinces as well. With the lack of information, does it not seem that the Liberal government is setting up the provinces to fail?

Business of Supply  If he was listening to what I said, I absolutely understand and we, on these benches, understand that health care is a provincial issue and it is distributed. Premier Scott Moe, Premier Doug Ford, Premier Sandy Silver and Dr. Robert Strang have all been asking and asking, and not getting answers. They feel the government is hiding the plan and not keeping them informed. The government needs to do a better job.

Business of Supply  The premier has said that he has not received confirmation from the federal government that a vaccine will be distributed on a per-capita basis, nor has he received clarity on when it will be received by the provinces. He is not the only premier asking questions. Earlier this week, Premier Doug Ford of Ontario said: I have to get answers. I've been asking the federal government. We need to know when we're getting it, how much we're getting and what we're getting. There's different vaccines out there so, to be perfectly frank, I'm not any more comfortable than I was last week.

Environment committee  In addition, electric vehicle sales in Ontario fell 55% in the first quarter of 2019, relative to 2018, after Doug Ford cut financial incentives. Here's another example. In Georgia, in the United States, electric vehicle sales dropped 80% after financial incentives were eliminated. As you'll understand, that's not a question but rather a comment intended to show you how much I disagree with your statement.

International Trade committee  We were having to get our personal protective equipment from other countries; the N95 masks had to be manufactured outside of Canada. The Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, said we're never going to let that happen again, we're going to develop Canadian manufacturing capacity. Although Mr. Ford and I aren't on the same page on many things, that seems to me to be a very important point.

Indigenous Affairs  The court threw out the arguments of the Liberal government lawyers who had done everything to try to deny the survivors justice. Even the attorney general in Doug Ford's Ontario was standing with the survivors. The Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations' lawyers suppressed the evidence of horrific crimes. She has spent millions in a mean-spirited legal war.

Proceedings on the bill entitled An Act relating to certain measures in response to COVID-19  I heard my colleague talk about the priority and needs of the people in his riding and all of Ontario. On September 18, the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, and the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, very clearly set out the provinces' health care needs. They called for an increase in federal government support, from $42 billion to $70 billion next year and for the money to be recurring.

Official Languages  This was necessary not only at the federal level, but also at the provincial Conservative government level, including Doug Ford's government. We are now very worried that Jason Kenney is targeting Franco-Albertans with Campus Saint-Jean. Will my colleague join us in condemning the cuts that Jason Kenney is making to funding for Franco-Albertans and Campus Saint-Jean?

Further COVID-19 Measures Act  There are four other homes: Orchard Villa in Pickering—Uxbridge, Holland Christian Grace Manor in Brampton South, Hawthorne Place Care Centre in Humber River—Black Creek, and Eatonville Care Centre in Etobicoke Centre. All five MPs who correspond to these homes have written to Premier Doug Ford, as well as the Prime Minister. We are asking the premier to initiate a public inquiry, similar to that of Ipperwash, to make sure that we do not make the mistakes that we made in long-term care homes.

Industry committee  We need to say, “Listen, we've just lived this, and these are the essential workers.” You can't have the Jason Kenneys of the world, and frankly, the Doug Fords, saying when they first come into power, “Look, the problem is we're open for business, so we have to freeze the minimum wage”, which, we now know, impacts the most vulnerable essential workers in society.
