Economic and Fiscal Update Implementation Act, 2021  Madam Speaker, while the housing crisis is national in scope, regional spikes like the one in Ontario are the reason so many are actually calling Saskatchewan home now. I know of many retirees who cannot afford to remain in Ontario. One couple, for example, planned a short visit to Saskatchewan but ended up staying permanently.

Economic and Fiscal Update Implementation Act, 2021  Madam Speaker, I remember how it felt to buy our first home, to take the keys and walk through our front door. It was a modest and older home, but it had character and all kinds of potential. For young people, owning a home is often seen as a key to the next chapter of their life story, which a lot of times includes starting a family and putting down roots in a community, a community where they contribute to the social and economic fabric while building lifetime friendships and family memories.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would like to bring to my colleague's attention, after her great speech, a conversation on an Ottawa radio station yesterday with an individual responsible for tracking the variants in the sewage treatment in Ottawa. The numbers have gone up. The individual was asked about whether we should be doing what we are doing right now in terms of lightening the mandates and giving people their lives back.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police  Mr. Speaker, responding to my question on February 11, the Minister of Public Safety stated: ...to be clear, there are long-standing arrangements that exist between the federal government, the provinces and the municipalities. Of course, we remain in very close touch with them to ensure that there is fair and equitable support when it comes to the RCMP.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police  Mr. Speaker, on February 11, I raised a question concerning the impact an RCMP payroll increase and back pay will have on the rural communities of Yorkton—Melville. The agreement reached last June between the federal government and the National Police Federation includes a $20,000 payroll increase for the more than 19,000 regular members of the RCMP.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, I appreciate the member's intervention tonight. I also appreciate the pain she is in and certainly hope she is well soon. The order in council released by the government authorizes the government to do the following. As I think this would add to the member's concerns around certainty, I will quote what is in the order in council: ...other temporary measures authorized under section 19 of the Emergencies Act that are not yet known.

Emergencies Act  Mr. Speaker, I am concerned about what I am hearing today from the member of the NDP. It is painting a picture that is inflammatory by implying that the majority of those who are protesting are racists, rather than a few who show their ignorance whenever an opportunity arises. Personally, I have multiple examples of indigenous, Black, Indian, Muslim, Sikh and Jewish participants who have taken part in this peaceful protest and are proudly talking about it.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, the individual who just spoke indicated that one of the problems here is that Canada's reputation is being tarnished. Whose reputation is truly being tarnished, Canadians' reputations or the government's reputation? The stands that everyday Canadians have taken have gained international support and have drawn disdain directly toward the Liberal government, and especially toward the language and actions of the Prime Minister.

Ukraine  Mr. Speaker, I would like to voice my perspective on this. It is really important that the Prime Minister do the right thing and apologize for the statement he made today, especially in reference to the House, but also because this statement has been abused and used against Canadians, and he has not recognized in any way the thousands and millions of Canadian flags that have flown over the past two or three weeks.

Act Respecting Certain Measures Related to COVID-19  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for her comments this evening. She really respects this particular individual and the research and literature he has produced, so I have a question for her regarding that. I want to bring to the member's attention something that concerns me. It is a red flag.

Act Respecting Certain Measures Related to COVID-19  Mr. Speaker, my colleague certainly described a lot of reasons for the lack of trust in the government that exists at the level it does today across the whole nation. I want to talk about the fact that early on, Canadian companies were creating very quick, very efficient, very high-quality rapid tests in this country, yet they were given a pass.

Act Respecting Certain Measures Related to COVID-19  Mr. Speaker, I appreciated listening to the member's speech tonight. The fact that she is a physician gives her an opportunity to explain a number of things to Canadians. Of course, saving lives is key to any physician and I really appreciate her passion for that. Could she explain something?
