Taxation  Madam Speaker, I am happy to rise once again in this House to help my hon. colleague get a better understanding of the disability tax credit. While I am certain that this may not surprise my colleague, I can once again assure him, as I have many times in this House, that the eligibility criteria for the DTC have not changed.

Our government is committed to ensuring greater accessibility and opportunities for all Canadians, especially those with disabilities. Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, there is no doubt that the employees at Chantier Davie have the expertise and skills in shipbuilding, refit, and repair. The process is ongoing with Chantier Davie. We continue to pursue these negotiations in good faith with Chantier Davie. That said, we will not negotiate on the floor of the House of Commons.

Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, before I respond to the hon. member, on behalf of all the constituents of Brampton West, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims who were killed in the tragic incident that took place in Toronto yesterday. Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would have to disagree with the remarks of the member. Our government has been dealing with this situation responsibly. We have increased the investment in our borders by $173 million, yet the Conservatives criticize us for spending that money. However, that is not surprising, coming from the Harper Conservatives who cut $390 million from the CBSA.

As I have mentioned, and as mentioned by my colleague and the minister's mandate letter, we are committed to letting charities carry out their extremely important work without the fear of political harassment.

Budget Implementation Act, 2018, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I am extremely proud of budget 2018, because it puts gender equality at the centre. For the first time ever, a GBA+ analysis was done on the entire budget to make sure that every budget policy was looked at through a gender lens. This is a policy we will continue in the future.

Budget 2018 invests almost $100 million in the CRA, and that is in addition to nearly $1 billion in the last two budgets to allow it to go even further in terms of fighting tax evasion.

Budget Implementation Act, 2018, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I am proud to rise today in support of Bill C-74 and budget 2018. This is our government's third budget and another step to ensuring every Canadian has a real and fair chance at success. Our government's plan to strengthen the middle class and to grow the economy is working.

Employment Insurance  Madam Speaker, let me be absolutely clear. Canada Revenue Agency must treat all Canadians like valued clients, not simply as taxpayers, and not certainly like Conservatives did when they were in government. In just two years, we have made numerous improvements to ensure CRA better serves all Canadians.

Employment Insurance  Madam Speaker, it is an honour to rise in the House tonight and speak about the service improvements that our government has brought forward and will continue to bring forward to the Canada Revenue Agency. I would like to note the important role the CRA plays in distributing the benefits on which Canadians rely.

We have implemented several concrete measures to make the employment insurance program even more flexible and generous for those who need it.

As members know, the topic of this debate, the employment insurance sickness benefit, is of utmost importance to our government. Since taking office, we have introduced changes to the El system to make it more flexible, and to make sure that El aligns with both the needs of Canadian families and the realities of today's labour market.
