Agriculture committee  Thank you. For Mr. Boisseau-Bouvier, I was wondering about your thoughts on the pricing signals. You're obviously in favour of them. What impact do you think legislation like this—which, once we have the signals in place then reverses or takes them away for a while—has on the kind of farm clean-tech development that's so needed in the grain drying field, for instance?

Agriculture committee  Thank you very much, Mr. Chair, and thank you to the witnesses for being here today. I found the discussion very interesting. Thank you, Mr. Wright, for your viewpoint as a farmer. I think this bill was initially introduced.... Obviously we're concerned about the economic welfare of our farmers and their ability to manage with all the increasing costs.

Agriculture committee  Okay. Thank you. I have a quick question for Mr. Lemaire. You mentioned the national school food program, I believe. I'm a big proponent of that, of healthy food and dealing with food insecurity in Canada. I have a question. We talk about the supply and demand balance. In Canada, demand and appetite have grown for certain types of foods because of the lower food prices, which have been kept down over the decades.

Agriculture committee  Thank you, Mr. Chair. First of all, thank you to the witnesses for being here on this very interesting topic. We could go on and on, because there are so many aspects of food insecurity. You talked about increasing supply and said that it's the supply that we need to focus on.

Agriculture committee  Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Lobb, for being here. I appreciate the difficulty that farmers have. I come from a long line of Dutch farmers in hog farming, chicken farming, garden produce and the lot, so I've seen what you're talking about. I agree that there are years when it's tougher than other years.

Agriculture committee  With regard to one of the other output-based pricing systems and the greenhouse gas credits that we're working on right now, do you see that as sufficient to offset the price on pollution for some of these farmers? You mentioned that they're—
