Carbon Pricing  He would like Canadians to forget that he has doubled the cost of rent, that he wants to quadruple the carbon tax and that he has given us the worst interest rate hikes in Canadian history. The least he could do is back off on his plan to quadruple the tax on our farmers. Will he stop blocking Bill C-234, the common-sense Conservative bill to take the tax off our farmers, so that our Canadian people can afford to eat?

Carbon Pricing  We love our great Canadian traditions, including Christmas. Unfortunately, after eight years, the Prime Minister promises nothing but a carbon tax lump of coal for Canadians. Will he get off the backs of Canadians so they can enjoy beautiful gifts and maybe even a turkey and warm meal around the Christmas table this season?

Finance  Speaker, maybe he should just give the media even more money to cover the news how he would like it, because we know he is so desperate to debate me on the carbon tax, a debate he has been losing badly. Canadians overwhelmingly want him to axe the tax. That is why he panicked and flip-flopped to take the tax off for a short time, and only for those people who are in a region where he is plummeting in the polls and his caucus is revolting.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  I urge all members of the House of Commons to consider doing more and adopting our Conservative ideas to provide Canadians a carbon tax break on home heating, and let us have a carbon tax carve-out for our farmers.

Finance committee  In British Columbia there's no federal carbon tax, yet I've watched Conservative MP after Conservative MP get up to talk about how they're serving their constituents by talking about the federal carbon tax, as if the carbon tax in B.C. wouldn't apply the day after a federal carbon tax was eliminated.

Business of Supply  We are again seeing the Liberal government picking winners and losers and who is going to suffer from the carbon tax. My riding is now considered part of Toronto. The soup and salad bowl of Canada is now part of Toronto. Can members imagine that? I wonder if my colleague could comment on the rejigging of the CMAs through Statistics Canada.

Business of Supply  It converts corn into alcohols, everything from the special ingredient in White Claw to biofuels and hospital-grade pharmaceutical alcohols. It buys Canadian corn and American corn. The American farmers do not pay the carbon tax, and they truck right into Chatham and compete with Canadian corn. What does the member say to the Canadian farmers trying to compete against American corn in that market in our own backyard?

Carbon Tax  The time for the Prime Minister is up. He has doubled down on his plan to quadruple the carbon tax on gas, groceries and home heating. Conservatives are the only party working to lower taxes for Canadians. That is exactly what Bill C-234 would accomplish. It would create another carbon tax carve-out by removing the carbon tax for Canadian farmers.

Business of Supply  They have the individuals' names, in this case, the two senators, and then at the top it says “Call and ask these [Prime Minister's name] senators why they shut down debate on giving farmers a carbon tax carveout.” The reason I find this so disrespectful is that, notwithstanding the fact that more developed out of that poster, which I will talk about momentarily, out of one side of their mouths, Conservatives are trying to somehow justify attacking senators to get results.

Carbon Pricing  The Hunger Report has said that food bank usage has gone up for seven years in a row. The NDP and Liberals' carbon tax has hiked food prices and forced Canadians to skip meals or cut the basics. Common-sense Conservatives will axe the tax for all, for good. However, a quick fix is Conservative Bill C-234, which would cut it from farm fuels.

Democratic Institutions  Will the Liberals stop their unconstitutional obstruction of Bill C‑234 and end the inflationary carbon taxes imposed on farmers so that people can eat this Christmas?

Democratic Institutions  After eight years, it is clear that this Prime Minister is in panic mode. He is downright desperate. Bill C‑234, which aims to exempt farmers from the carbon tax, is stalled in the Senate. The Prime Minister wants senators to overstep their role as unelected parliamentarians by literally asking them to kill this bill, which was properly passed by elected members of the House of Commons.

Carbon Pricing  Speaker, farmers from across Canada are calling on Liberal-appointed senators to support a common-sense Conservative bill, Bill C-234, which would lower costs on farming and make food more affordable, but the Liberals' environment minister has threatened to resign if there are any carbon tax carve-outs. This is amazing when we have a record-shattering two million Canadians relying on food banks. The environment minister's dedication to making life unaffordable is unwavering.

Carbon Pricing  Speaker, actually, we are the only party that has stood with Ukraine rather than trying to impose a carbon tax. I understand what the Prime Minister is doing. He has imposed so much misery here at home, whether by doubling housing costs, forcing people into tent encampments or forcing two million people to go to a food bank.

Carbon Pricing  Therefore. a record-smashing two million people are lined up at a food bank every month, around corners in ways that we have not seen since the Great Depression. That is the austerity he has imposed on Canadians. Now he wants to quadruple the carbon tax on the farmers who bring us our food. We have a common-sense Conservative bill, Bill C-234. Will the Prime Minister stop blocking this bill in the Senate and let it pass so that our farmers can produce food and our people can afford to eat it?
