Ethics  Obviously, that information was not properly disclosed to me or to others. For that reason, those two individuals are under investigation and we have taken action against the appropriate individuals.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, the RCMP has been clear. Two individuals are under investigation, and our government is co-operating fully. Canadians do not agree with the Liberal Party, which is protecting senators who break the rules.

Ethics  I could not be clearer on that fact. Those are the facts. Of course, as we know, that was not true, and that is why two individuals are under investigation.

Ethics  He gave him a gift and then allowed him to claim that he had repaid his expenses. That was obviously not correct, and that is why those two individuals are under investigation.

Ethics  As the RCMP has been very clear, we have been providing them with any and all access to the information that is necessary. The RCMP has made clear that there are two individuals who are under investigation. Those are individuals whom we have already sanctioned. Obviously, we will continue to assist the RCMP.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, that statement is totally false. The RCMP has said that there are two individuals who are under investigation. When the Leader of the Opposition starts tarnishing the names of people who face no allegations whatsoever, I am reminded once again of the old saying, “When you throw mud, you lose ground”.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, there are two individuals who are under investigation, and there are a number of senators who broke rules or who disregarded rules. Those senators have been dealt with harshly by the Senate of Canada, by the Conservative senators in the Senate of Canada.

Ethics  That gift was not properly disclosed and was in fact misrepresented. That is why those two individuals are under investigation, as they should be, and why we will continue to assist the RCMP in any and all—

Ethics  From all documents, the sole responsibility for these actions rests with Mr. Wright and with Mr. Duffy. That is why these two individuals are under investigation. Mr. Wright has accepted his responsibility and co-operated fully. That is not the case for Mr. Duffy. We will ensure that we provide all co-operation and assistance to ensure that those who are responsible are held accountable.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, once again, the documents make clear there are two individuals who are under investigation, Mr. Wright and Mr. Duffy, as has been said from the outset of this affair. Let me say specifically, what the RCMP says about the PMO. The RCMP investigator reports that he had “clear orders from the Prime Minister to provide complete cooperation with the investigation, and to provide any assistance or documentation the RCMP requested”.

Ethics  Duffy himself who had repaid his expenses. That was obviously not the appropriate thing to do. That is why those two individuals have been sanctioned and are under further investigation.

Ethics  Speaker, if the Leader of the Opposition wants to cite the RCMP, he would note that it is these two individuals who are under investigation for what was an improper payment, I think something Mr. Wright himself admits. That is the appropriate thing, that those who undertook these actions be held responsible and accountable.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, once again, what the RCMP has confirmed in its documents today is that two individuals, Mr. Duffy and Mr. Wright, are under investigation for their actions in this matter and it has also confirmed that this Prime Minister has been telling exactly the truth.

Ethics  Obviously, it was unacceptable that this was done, and particularly that I was not informed and my permission to do such a thing was never sought. I obviously would never have given it, and for that reason these two individuals have faced sanctions.

Public Works and Government Services  Mr. Speaker, the Bloc member mentioned the names of two individuals of Greek origin, namely one employee who works here in Ottawa, and another who is a Conservative Party supporter, in Montreal. The fact that there are two Montrealers of Greek origin does not mean there is a plot.
