Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, the story today is that we are trying to take the tax off Canadians. This is what this debate is about. First nations in New Brunswick know that I am their friend. I have been their minister and it has worked out well. I have great relationships. I am sick and tired of coming here when there are people in this House, who do not sit far from me, who were dressed up like Yasser Arafat just a few days ago.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, once again, let me highlight this great occasion of the censorship party that values American politics and American news more than what is going on in our country. The story here is that the Liberals imposed a carbon tax, everything is too expensive and nobody can afford it.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, what we are debating here today makes it clear that the Conservative Party is the only clear choice for Canadians to take the tax off farmers, first nations and families who heat their homes. That is what we are trying to do here today. It is shameful that the NDP and Liberals are against that.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, it is hard to take lessons from the Greens, the NDP or the Liberals when they supported Loblaws getting $17 million for brand new freezers and fridges. They talk about corporations, but then they want to subsidize the ones they prefer. This is about taking the tax off families, first nations and farmers and no longer leaving Canadians out in the cold.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, it is a pleasure to be here today and to speak to this. While I will be sharing my views here and sharing my time with the member for Red Deer—Mountain View, I want to tell members something I heard earlier that struck me as funny. Members from the government have said that the Conservatives are taking the country back to the Stone Age.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, under the Prime Minister, New Brunswickers are struggling to pay their rent. After eight years, he is just not worth the cost. While rents are too high in major cities, recent increases have been the biggest in New Brunswick. According to Stats Canada, rent has inflated nearly 30% in New Brunswick in the last four years alone.

Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. I was not here earlier when the Speaker made his ruling. I would like to offer my apologies and withdraw the unparliamentary language I used last week.

Points of Order  Mr. Speaker, can I ask what the exact thing is that I am being accused of? It is unclear to me. I need to know the exact words, and then I will talk.

Points of Order  Mr. Speaker, number one, I directed nothing at the member who is over here in the corner. My exact words, and I know the NDP is not going to like it, are I said that they were Hamas supporters, and they are.

Questions Passed as Orders for Returns  With regard to convictions under the Fisheries Act that have resulted in fines since January 1, 2016: what are the details of all fines issued by fishery officers, including the (i) province, (ii) federal riding of the incident, if known, (iii) location, (iv) monetary amount issued, (v) monetary amount paid, (vi) date of the issuance, (vii) date of the payment, (viii) summary of the infraction?

Points of Order  Mr. Speaker, it is a new point of order. I, many of my colleagues and many of the people at home continue to ask the same question: Why is the volume being turned down so often by the Speaker? Can you explain why that is happening so often?

Points of Order  Mr. Speaker, this is on a point of clarification on the point of order. Canadians are feeling like their members of Parliament are being subjected to the microphone's being turned off right at the point when they are making points of order and points of clarification. Making those points is something we are entitled to as members of the House.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, what I hear back home about the carbon tax is that people work all week to buy food that costs too much. It is the same for gas. New Brunswick wants the carbon tax gone, just like it wants the Prime Minister gone, because he is not worth the cost. On this side of the House, we understand the pressure the Liberal carbon tax has put on everyone.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, that is more divide and conquer from the other side of the floor. Last week, the minister from Long Range Mountains said that the punishing carbon tax exemption was not granted to Canadians across the country because they did not vote Liberal. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that, if re-elected, the NDP-Liberal government would quadruple the carbon tax on home heating, gas and groceries to 61¢ a litre.
