Industry committee Only the Canadian government gives export permit approval for that technology. I don't see why they would.

Industry committee My understanding, as president of the company, is that if I did that, it would be breaking the law. Therefore, we haven't done it and we won't do it.

Industry committee The Canadian government got an excellent deal, negotiated a very tough deal, ran a very tough competition. We won, hands down. You cannot buy that data for less money than we're giving it to you for. You cannot buy it anywhere in the world.

Industry committee The government wants to do it over seven years. They could do it over one year if they wanted to, but that wouldn't be very efficient.
April 1st, 2008Committee meeting
Daniel Friedmann
Industry committee That's only if we export the data to the U.S. government.
April 1st, 2008Committee meeting

Industry committee I don't know, but I can't imagine why they'd do it.
April 1st, 2008Committee meeting

Industry committee Only if the government wanted to do so.
April 1st, 2008Committee meeting

April 1st, 2008Committee meeting
Daniel Friedmann
Industry committee Orbital was before.
April 1st, 2008Committee meeting
Daniel Friedmann
Industry committee There's a certain level of classification that can only be done in the U.S., as there is in Canada.
April 1st, 2008Committee meeting
Daniel Friedmann
Industry committee We couldn't get a contract in Canada that had a classified piece. The classified piece would have to be stripped off first--we've done this already--and the non-classified piece can be contracted back to Canada.
