Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  I would quickly add that one of the first things I think we need to look at, if we're going to make a change, is the system, the system that allows this to happen. I think that's where we need to first of all focus our attention. How can we change the system that allows these things to happen and that perpetuates them in communities?

One of the important things I want to point out here is that we need a funding framework from both levels of government to connect remote communities to the grid and get them off diesel.
