I was the pensioner representative on that pension advisory committee for a number of years. Our association was the one that first raised it at that committee and has been supporting it on the public service side.

About four or five years ago, we did a number of town hall meetings with veterans and got a whole lot of information about the situations and the difficulties they were facing. A lot was mentioned, and we learned things very similar to what Mr.

Veterans Affairs committee  It depends on who you want to reach. I haven't heard of social media being used to educate the youth. That is critical. If we could use social media to educate, that would be a start. For other generations, there are other methods. We've found that we are reaching our membership through social media more and more, and we're talking about the older population.

Therefore, we have decided as an association to focus on women in the Canadian Armed Forces and in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Human Resources committee  There are many communities. This was not invented by Health Canada, but certainly recommended and put in place by Health Canada some years ago. Also, we're really leaders in this country for having so many municipalities participating in this. The original concept of age-friendly cities was to make the cities friendly for seniors.
