Status of Women committee  Thank you, Madam Chair, and good afternoon, members of the committee. I'd like to thank the committee for giving me the opportunity to be present today and to speak on the issue of the barriers facing women in politics. My name is William McBeath, and I have had the privilege of working for a number of outstanding women politicians during my time in politics, including the honourable Diane Finley, member of Parliament for Haldimand—Norfolk, and the former Minister for Human Resources and Skills Development; former member of Parliament for Calgary Centre, Joan Crockatt; and the former leader of Alberta's official opposition, and Wildrose Party leader, Danielle Smith.
