Science and Research committee  I always say that I can put my researchers up against anyone in this country. We do exceptional work here. The phrase is overused, but we punch above our weight. We have incredible facilities, expertise and people. In particular, our long-standing tradition of being one of the two best universities in the country for neuroscience research is striking.

Science and Research committee  That's a great question. I think the tri-agencies, CFI and other federal funding agencies do an exceptionally good job of collecting that kind of data. The universities are held accountable by both the federal government and provincial funders to ensure that we're making the best use of the research funds we receive—that we're impacting communities, influencing policy, generating economic activity and creating talent for the future of Canada.
