Regional Economic Development  Unlike the Conservatives, we believe in investing in economic growth and job creation. They just want to make cuts. Even provincial Conservatives are terrified of their austerity plan.

Taxation  How can the Conservatives vote against that? Do members know how? It is because they only believe in cuts and austerity.

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, the Conservatives are the party of austerity. The only thing they know how to do is cut, cut, cut, so it is no surprise that they want to cut the carbon rebates that leave eight out of 10 Canadian families better off. Do members know what else they want to cut?

Housing  Mr. Speaker, even Conservative premiers recognize the damage these cost-cutting, austerity Conservatives would wreak on our country. The only thing Conservatives know how to do is cut. They want to cut the first home savings account that has allowed more than 750,000 young Canadians to save up for their first home.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, the only thing the Conservatives believe in is austerity, and the only thing they know how to do is cut, cut, cut. That it is why it is no surprise that they would like to cut the carbon rebates that are putting more money back in the pockets of eight out of 10 Canadians.

Taxation  Speaker, the reality is that the Conservatives do not have a plan. The only thing the Conservatives understand is austerity. The only thing they can do is cut, cut, cut. They want to scrap our dental care plan, which is very popular in Quebec. They want to scrap our school food program, another plan that is very popular in Quebec.

Carbon Pricing  Speaker, the member is from Atlantic Canada, and I have never heard anyone from Atlantic Canada suggest that we cut the Canada child benefit, that we cut and vote against the school nutrition program or that we cut an entire housing program designed to remedy the housing problems in Atlantic Canada. The member should stand up for once to the leader who has an austerity agenda and wants to cut the very supports that are keeping his constituents and helping his constituents meet the current cost of living issue.

Government Priorities  She ought to read the most recent report of the Parliamentary Budget Officer, which makes clear that no fewer than 50,000 Canadians have been supported by this government's national housing strategy and specifically the reaching home program, which they would cut because they have an austerity agenda that they are ideologically committed to.

The Economy  That is austerity. How is it that the government has money to spare while ordinary Canadians are struggling to get by?

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023  It is because we are investing into what the future of our country is going to look like. We are not about slogans. We are not about cuts. We are not about austerity. I am proud to stand up and support the fall economic statement and proud of the work that this government has done over these past eight years.

Taxation  These are all proposals the Conservatives voted against. They will cut programs, services and family benefits in the name of austerity ideology. We will continue to make investments for Quebeckers and for all Canadians.

Housing  It takes investment in programs that are rooted in compassion and backed by data to deal with addictions. Those are the investments that are needed. He is proposing nothing but cuts and austerity while Canadians are suffering. We are here to invest in vulnerable communities.

The Economy  In that report, she will see that no fewer than 50,000 Canadians are supported by the national housing strategy, specifically the Reaching Home program, which the Conservatives would cut. We know they champion an austerity agenda. This is also from the deputy leader, who made clear only a few weeks ago, on a yacht no less, that fewer homes have to be built in Canada. The Conservatives are siding with the NIMBYs.

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023  As I said in my speech, and I am hoping that the member would have listened, it is about making investments into our future. It is not about cuts. It is not about austerity. It is not about axing and taxing or whatever those fancy slogans are that are coming out from that party. It is about believing in the ability, the talent, and the perseverance of our young people to ensure that they have what is needed for them to be successful today, for years to come and for generations to come.

Housing  Confident countries invest in themselves. What the Leader of the Opposition is proposing is austerity and cuts to programs at exactly the time that Canadians need them.
