Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, my colleague talked about seniors. As the critic for seniors, I obviously paid very close attention to that part of his speech. Seniors' groups in my riding and elsewhere in Quebec have talked to me about the ArriveCAN app. They were, perhaps, disproportionately affected by it.

Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague from Calgary Nose Hill, with whom I recently had the pleasure of attending the 145th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Kigali. She and I met with the same Ukrainian elected representatives and observed the same geopolitical issues and the rise of a kind of autocracy and anti-West movements.

Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague from Langley—Aldergrove for his speech, in which he referred to Brian Mulroney. I would like to hear him talk about the fact that Mr. Mulroney recently said that he no longer recognizes himself in the new version of the Conservative Party, particularly because it refused to acknowledge climate change.

Removal of Iran from UN Commission on the Status of Women  Mr. Speaker, there have been discussions among the parties and if you seek it, I believe you will find unanimous consent to adopt the following motion: That the House: (a) reiterate its unconditional support for Iranian women who are peacefully demonstrating for their rights in Iran; (b) condemn the killings, intimidation, and acts of violence initiated by the Iranian state against protesters who support the women's liberation movement in Iran; and (c) call on the United Nations to withdraw Iran from its Commission on the Status of Women.

LGBTQ+ Rights  Mr. Speaker, I rise to acknowledge the 30th anniversary of the end of the LGBT purge. Between 1950 and 1992, LGBTQ+ members of the military, RCMP officers and other federal employees were subjected to discriminatory policies and practices based on their sexual orientation. On this sad 30th anniversary, the LGBT Purge Fund and Egale Canada came to the Hill to raise awareness among elected officials about the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act  Madam Speaker, it always surprises me to hear the member for Winnipeg North talk about the division of power, about what falls under Quebec's jurisdiction, as I see it, and under federal jurisdiction, as he sees it. I have said this before, but I want to say it again for his sake.

Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act  Madam Speaker, that is why I pointed out that there is still a lot of work to be done by the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development, particularly with my colleague from Repentigny. A lot of work still needs to be done to rethink this legislation and look at what is missing from it.

Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act  Madam Speaker, I am rather excited to rise today. It is always a pleasure to talk about the environment in the House, especially since I was a member of an ECOSPHERE fair on the environment for more than 10 years. I ended up there when I was working for Christian Ouellet, whose work inspired me.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, they are forgetting half of them. Abandoning seniors is not an act of discipline, it is austerity. We are talking about people who worked for decades and then end up going to a food bank for the first time in their lives. It is not true that the rising cost of living affects 74-year-olds and 75-year-olds differently.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague from Rivière‑des‑Mille‑Îles for his question. I believe the Bloc Québécois is also concerned about other issues. Today, on Parliament Hill, the Bloc once again defended employment insurance reform, which is long overdue. It is seasonal workers who are penalized right now, and the Bloc spoke out about it.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague from Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie for his question, which gives me the opportunity to talk about other sources of revenue. Why did we not talk about tax evasion today? The reason is that we have already spoken about it at length with my colleague from Joliette, whom I commend.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I will not give my colleague from Winnipeg North a lesson in democracy. There are other republican systems that we could study, and it is clear that these systems would cost less than what is in place at present. People would not be paying $1,000 for lemons. Putting that aside, I cannot speak for the people of Winnipeg North, but, in my riding, a reeve in a regional county municipality recently told me that it is an important issue because it is costly.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, it is with great humility that I rise to speak on this Bloc Québécois opposition day. To begin, I would like to reread the motion: That, given that, (i) Canada is a democratic state, (ii) this House believes in the principle of equality for all, the House express its desire to sever ties between the Canadian State and the British monarchy, and call on the government to take the actions necessary to do so.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague from Jonquière for his speech. I would like to make a comment rather than ask a question. This evening's debate brings two things to mind. I am a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group to End Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. Of course, the committee talked about the Uighurs.
