Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, on the one hand, I find our Liberal colleague's take on the evacuation of Afghans surprisingly optimistic for what I would consider a dismal failure. A mere 3,700 people were able to leave Afghanistan, when the government's goal was to bring in 40,000. At this rate, given how much time has passed since August, it will take three years and nine months to achieve that.

Criminal Code  Mr. Speaker, that is a very simple question. Members know our position, which is that we always want to make progress on that front for workers. The Bloc Québécois fully supports examining and analyzing all of that, as it has a major impact. People do not choose to be sick and take leave.

As to the government being slow, I am hyperactive, so watching bills drag on when we could easily adopt them or skip to the next step is something I find supremely frustrating.

This is something that affects us all, and we are all sensitive to it. However, can the member explain to me how mental health falls under the federal government's jurisdiction?

However, I would like him to tell me why there is such meddling in provincial jurisdictions in the throne speech. Take, for example, housing, the reform of policing, mental health, human resources management and the prevention of violence, among other things.

Battle of Hill 355  Mr. Speaker, last week, we marked the 70th anniversary of the battle of Hill 355, which took place in 1951 during the Korean War. Hill 355 was the strategic point to be defended. This long, desperate battle was fought in the mud, snow and cold and could not have ended in victory without the heroic participation of French-Canadian soldiers from the 22nd Regiment, including one Léo Major.

It makes people afraid. Are there five, ten, fifty?

Unfortunately for me, the arguments advanced by the Liberal Party and the NDP really do not hold water. There are Liberal members who we will not recognize when the Liberals decide to resume sitting in the House. My question for my colleague is the following: Concerning child care, can he guarantee that Quebec will obtain the full amount that it is due?

Budget Implementation Act, 2021, No. 1  Madam Speaker, I thank my esteemed colleague for mentioning Samuel Lévesque, a young man from my riding, whose parents live in my colleague's riding, who is circulating a very important petition. This 20-year-old young man is fighting for his grandparents to help put more money in their pockets.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague, whom I like very much. Among other things, I like his accent; it is so fluid. I know that my colleague is in favour of the Bloc Québécois motion and will vote in favour of it, I am sure. I would like his impression of the amendment that was proposed this morning by other colleagues who would like the wording of our motion to include the words “in a united Canada”.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, it is true that today’s motion does not really have any legal weight, but we must not lump it together with Bill 96. We are hearing a lot today about how the amendments proposed by the Bloc Québécois are symbolic. I totally disagree, because they clearly have a binding aspect.
