Business of Supply  When a leader is worthy of confidence, which is not currently the case, they do what is necessary to prevent, act and correct. Right now, we have reached the limit. I can say to my colleague that we are at the end of our rope. The alarm sounded last week. We do not want any more. Now we are waiting.

The Public Complaints and Review Commission Act  I think they also had a TV show to follow them, so they could have real-life examples of what it was like to arrest someone who did not belong in Canada. I thank God for a minister at the time who is no longer in this place, Chris Alexander, who was the minister of immigration. I managed to convince him to regularize the status of this wonderful man who has since passed away. Also, I have to say there was work that was done quickly to get him released from what was then a holding cell under the Vancouver airport.

The Public Complaints and Review Commission Act  We have managed to improve the bill and provide for more transparency and for a better set of checks and balances to ensure victims have more rights and that labour representation is acknowledged and upheld in the bill itself. Also, providing for a longer complaint period is something that is extremely important, as well as banning the use of non-disclosure agreements to silence victims. There are so many organizations that provided valuable testimony.

Canada-China Relations committee  Though there is much to celebrate, one cannot deny the fact that the geopolitical backdrop of our partnership is no longer the same. In her keynote address in Toronto seven months ago, Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly described in vivid terms the state of play on the world stage. She said: Our world is marked by geopolitical turbulence, unpredictability, and uncertainty.

Public Safety committee  If NDP-6 was moved, then NDP-7 and BQ-3 could not be moved because they were identical. They can no longer be moved. That brings us to BQ-4. Mr. Villemure, you have the floor.

Health committee  Women with an early-stage diagnosis are far more likely to live out their full lifespan with less of the aggressive treatment, existential dread and generational trauma of a woman and her family dealing with a late-stage cancer diagnosis. Simply put, women with smaller, less advanced tumours tend to live longer and better-quality lives, and screened women tend to have smaller tumours than non-screened women. It has been mentioned by some task force members that screening should be limited to control costs.

Government Operations committee  It was a combination of processes not being followed, processes being too complicated and people probably.... If you look at some of those performance requirements—and I'm reaching really out there—if your performance and your bonuses depend on getting something done, and then you are handcuffed with a process that is lengthy and complicated, you're going to find creative ways to be able to get your job done.

Health committee  For patients who receive stage three or stage four therapy, their therapy will go on over a longer period of time and has a greater impact—greater disability—as opposed to women who would perhaps be diagnosed at a younger age and an earlier stage, where they could go back into the workforce or remain employed at the same time and continue to care for their families and contribute to society.

Justice committee  In your opinion, should we not put an end once and for all to discrimination, violence against the Muslim and Jewish communities, and all other forms of discrimination based on race, skin colour, gender or any other form? Have we not reached the point where we must ban all expressions of hatred from the public space? In short, shouldn't the promotion of hatred in Canada be prohibited, regardless of the reason given, including a religious text or an editorial?

Health committee  Please take note of the following preventative measures in place to protect the health and safety of all participants, including the interpreters. Please use only the black, approved earpiece. The former grey earpieces must no longer be used. Please keep your earpiece away from all microphones at all times. When you're not using your earpiece, please place it face down on the sticker placed on the table for this purpose.

Human Resources committee  However, due to a variety of factors—the most impactful being legislative changes federally and provincially that serve to impede, restrict, complicate or increase the cost of development—our business, like countless others, stopped building rental housing. Simply put, we could no longer advance projects for which we had no reasonable prospect of earning a modest return, let alone ones that justified the major risks inherent in projects of this financial and engineering complexity.

Industry committee  I wouldn't want you to be left with that sense, MP Masse. Also, the combination of the bills together, I understand, is within the reach of what you could do. My sense is that in some ways we are trying to align the way Canada approaches things with our main comparator jurisdictions—the United States, the EU, Australia and the U.K.

Library of Parliament committee  I'm going to read her words: I have always made consultations with parliamentarians central to my work, for example, by getting regular input from committee chairs and deputy chairs on how to improve services, and by reaching out to new parliamentarians to identify their needs and provide the information, training, and tools they require to be effective in their roles. If I'm confirmed as the parliamentary librarian, I would look forward to working with you and both Speakers to ensure that the needs of all parliamentarians are well understood and met.

Government Operations committee  The comptroller general reached out to all 10 departments and agencies that indicated they had contracts with McKinsey & Company and provided them with an audit program that the internal audit shop had to, at a minimum, carry out, in addition to whatever other work they may have wanted to do around the procurement process.
