House debate  Madam Speaker, the member referenced the online training. As a former officer within the Canadian Armed Forces and somebody who is GBA+ trained, I have a couple of simple questions for him. Is he personally GBA+ trained, and how many Liberal members of Parliament have taken the GBA+ training?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I will be supporting the motion today. I think there is a lot more tragic news that we are likely to discover as we continue to investigate. I would like to quote Duncan Campbell Scott, the 1909 appointed superintendent of Indian education, who said in 1910: I can safely say that barely half of the children in our Indian schools survive to take advantage of the education we are offering them.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, considering the minister's military background, I think he will appreciate this. I would like to read from the late Nawash Chief Wilmer Nadjiwon's book, Not Wolf, Nor Dog. He wrote: The effects of going to Spanish [residential school] were worse than the post traumatic effects of a soldier on the battle field; I know ...

Small Business  Mr. Speaker, I will remind the parliamentary secretary of the same quote I gave before from the financial institutions: “The Government of Canada has not yet finalized the remediation process for applicants to submit corrected or additional information in connection with their CEBA expansion enrolment request.”

Small Business  Mr. Speaker, unfortunately, I am disappointed to be rising again today to ask about the question that I brought up in the House a month ago. It is all about the Canada emergency business account and the failure of the government to resolve an issue to allow businesses to apply for the increase in the account.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, I rise to present four pretty much identical petitions totalling over 3,350 signatures. The petitioners are calling upon the Government of Canada to stop the TC Energy's proposed pump storage project on 4th Canadian Division Training Centre at base Meaford.

Local Clean Technology Business  Madam Speaker, last Thursday, it was announced that a Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound business, Hydrogen Optimized, has been awarded $4.8 million of federal funding to support its $12-million program to advance, scale and commercialize its technology. Hydrogen Optimized is a sustainable energy conversion company.

Tributes by the Member for Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound  Madam Speaker, today, I rise to pay tribute to a few people. First, on a sad note, this past week the community of Tobermory and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 290 lost its last World War II veteran, Norman Stevens. He leaves behind his son, Larry; daughter, Brenda; and many grandchildren, along with a grateful community for all he did for the Legion, in particular, the meals on wheels program.

Persons with Disabilities  Mr. Speaker, I thank the parliamentary secretary for committing, and I appreciate the government having a long-term strategy, but I think the most important comment to be made is that the government is willing to re-evaluate the strategy going forward. The bottom line is that I can understand how they want to move these costs over to the publishing network and make it more self-sustaining; that makes perfect sense.

Persons with Disabilities  Mr. Speaker, I am rising tonight to follow up on a question I asked in the House on March 21 regarding funding for services for Canadians with print disabilities. CELA, the Centre for Equitable Library Access, and NNELS, the National Network for Equitable Library Service, are national, not-for-profit organizations that provide accessible reading services to people with print disabilities in Canada.

Books of Remembrance  Mr. Speaker, on behalf of all Canadians and all Conservatives, I would offer the following additional details about the Books of Remembrance. There are a total of 512 names on display today, May 10, and 16 specific entries for those Canadian heroes who are known to have passed away on May 10.

Small Business  Mr. Speaker, after an announced CEBA expansion on December 4, many Canadians applied for expanded business loans. Many were denied as records held by the CRA did not match their applications. However, there is no method for Canadians to update their submissions. In January, the government promised to fix this, yet here we are five months later in the midst of further lockdowns during the Liberal third wave without a solution, leaving businesses to wait for the government to take action.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would like my hon. colleague's opinion on the best way forward to hold the Prime Minister to account. Ultimately it was his chief of staff who failed to provide the information to him that this was a sexual misconduct allegation against the chief of the defence staff.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, my question to the member is about accountability and the failure of information being passed to the Prime Minister in this case, with respect to allegations against the former chief of the defence staff. It is my understanding the member is a member of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians.
