Health  Mr. Speaker, here is another example of the government's mismanagement of the hotel quarantine process. The rules apply to travellers arriving by plane, but not to those arriving by land. The upshot is that people are flying to Burlington and then taking a bus across the border to avoid the mandatory hotel quarantine.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, the answer is yes. They received a one-time payment of $500. That was short-term relief. What else can they expect? A simple calculation shows us that they ended up with just a few bucks. It is not for nothing that we are asking for an increase of $110 a month. It is to help lift them out of their vulnerable situation and to increase their spending power.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I am not going to get into statistics because I gave enough of them in my speech. However, I do want to point out that the amount given to these seniors, who opened doors for us and to whom we are indebted, is equivalent to 1%. If we take into account all of the money that was spent to save everyone's skin, including the amount of the current debt, 1% is a minimal cost.

Business of Supply  Let us look at the facts, Mr. Speaker. People are being told that, if they do not have enough money, there are other resources available to them, such as food banks and community services and support. Come on. It is shameful how these people are being treated when they do not have the means to survive.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I will be sharing my time with my colleague from Jonquière. We have heard a lot today about the financial situation of seniors. I would have liked to have all day to talk about all of the calls my office gets from constituents. Although our riding offices are closed, Internet access is not always great and we are working virtually, I feel compelled to give my speech, which will naturally reiterate everything that we have been calling for for so many years.

Canada Revenue Agency  Mr. Speaker, thousands of people receive their T4 slip and then realize that fraudsters have claimed the CERB using their name. The government does nothing. People spend hours on the phone to no avail. It is easier to get someone's personal information to commit fraud than to get through on the CRA phone lines.

Canada Revenue Agency  Mr. Speaker, the Canada Revenue Agency is neglecting victims of CERB fraud. I spoke with parents whose three children were victims of fraud. They are spending hours on the phone, only to be told that the CRA can only deal with one file at a time and that they have to call back later about the other two children.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, my colleague's remarks and explanations were amazing. I truly appreciate him. I want everyone who is concerned about abuse, victims or the process to know that I was with my father at the end of his life, with my uncle and with a quadriplegic friend who wanted nothing more than to live and who is now an engineer.

Regional Recreational Organization  Mr. Speaker, I want to take advantage of the activities surrounding the 50th anniversary of Loisirs Laurentides to acknowledge the exemplary work of all its partners. This organization is a major player in sports and leisure in the magnificent Laurentides region. This organization was established on February 22, 1971, with a view to promoting physical activity and healthy habits for the people of Laurentides.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, I would like to take a few moments to explain what I did last week. I took the bull by the horns and spent my week in my riding's three regional county municipalities, namely, Antoine-Labelle, Laurentides and Pays-d'en-Haut. I met virtually with 150 businesspeople and community workers, as well as elected officials.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, first, I want to commend my colleague for her very clear and heartfelt message. In the past few weeks at the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics, we also made a lot of observations by looking at what is happening with Pornhub, as well as everything to do with slavery and mistreatment of women and minors, among others.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, it is indeed 2021. Proposals were put forward in previous Parliaments, including a bill introduced in the 41st Parliament that did not receive royal assent. A national day is a day that causes us to reflect, but what does my colleague think of the urgent need to enforce laws and modernize them to put a stop to all this?

Black History Month  Mr. Speaker, today I would like us all to acknowledge Black History Month, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary here this year. This is an opportunity to highlight the often little-known contribution that all of Quebec's Black communities have made to our history. Because of the pandemic, celebrations will be virtual, but there will still be a full slate of concerts, talks, discussion groups and more.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, I would like to ask a question about the deficit. Recently, we have talked a lot about the need to set up a special committee to shed some light on how taxpayers' money is being spent. There was the WE Charity scandal and the awarding of some rather questionable contracts.

Religious Freedom  Mr. Speaker, today is the four-year anniversary of the atrocity at the Quebec City mosque. On behalf of the Bloc Québécois, I want to honour the memory of the six men whose lives were stolen for the sole reason that they were Muslim. We stand with their loved ones, their families, the wounded and everyone who was there at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec on that dark January 29.
