Business of Supply  These are seniors and people living with disabilities in our communities, but I want to say that this is not all. Folks who have jobs and who are working can no longer afford to pay for their groceries; they can no longer afford to eat in this country. This is a huge problem, and the cost of food just keeps going up and up. In the last three years, the price of groceries has gone up by 20%.

Justice committee  I'm really not sure what to ask, at this point, but I want to go back to Mr. Khan's point about unity and diversity and reaching out. There are many victims of hate in this country and many victims of othering. I would like to ask him to talk a bit more about his experience in trying to join hands against the hatred.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  There are leadership and executive programs that are available to first nation leaders and their teams. The institute will also broaden the scope of our reach and the capacity that we could help develop within first nation communities and organizations.

Public Safety committee  Please take note of the following preventative measures in place to protect the health and safety of all participants, particularly the interpreters. Use only the approved black earpiece. The former grey earpieces must no longer be used. Keep your earpiece away from the microphone at all times. When you're not using your earpiece, place it face down on the sticker placed on the table for this purpose. Thank you all for your co-operation.

Democratic Institutions  Well, hiding behind classified information to avoid taking action to protect Canada's interests is no longer an excuse. Since he refuses to be transparent with Canadians, will he accept the common‑sense Conservative proposal to share the names and facts about the MPs who are colluding with foreign states and being hostile toward Commissioner Hogue?

Employment Insurance  It is time to undo the discrimination against women who lose their job while they are on parental leave. The Liberals can no longer condone a system that leaves six out of 10 workers out in the cold. When will EI be reformed?

Justice committee  He became an ally and supporter of Islam, so the best means to remove ignorance is through education and by reaching out with open arms. The Ahmadiyya Muslim community will always try to do this. One of the biggest causes of anti-Muslim sentiment is the constant media coverage portraying immigrants and Muslims in a negative light, especially with recent coverage of issues in the Holy Lands.

Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act  Medeiros paid $150,000 last year in carbon tax and is on track to be out of pocket another $173,000 this year. By 2030, he estimates it will reach $450,000. This is on top of his heating bills. This mushroom farmer is an example of Canadian farm families setting the gold standard in efficiency, innovation and sustainability. He uses heavily insulated boilers that are powered by natural gas.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, the people who are not going to be able to fool Canadians for very much longer are the Conservatives. For days and days, for weeks and weeks, they have been dithering and deflecting and evading when it comes to our proposed measures on capital gains. Tomorrow, they are going to have to take a stand.

Business of Supply  It is really important for this Parliament and, indeed, the government to stay on top of that file and ensure that we agree on a process where we can ensure that those members are getting the punishment they are due for conspiring to work on behalf of a foreign power, but also that Canadians can be sure they will no longer show up on a ballot in the next federal election.

Government Operations committee  In the case where the minister was involved, the contract was being issued on a non-competitive basis. There's a certain threshold at which the public service can no longer authorize a non-competitive contract—I think it's $4.5 million—which is why a minister needed to be involved. It was because it was non-competitive versus competitive.

Justice committee  It is important to note that I was very clear in the statement to condemn all forms of violence against innocent civilians and to ensure that our communities were not going to face the types of civil liberties encroachments that we have seen previously, as well as efforts to suggest that somehow Muslims have to constantly condemn every time a terrorist group takes some kind of action. We've moved beyond that. Muslims are no longer going to accept being treated as second-class citizens who have to prove their loyalty. Thank you.

Industry committee  Placing the onus on large companies to demonstrate that their merger is unlikely to harm competition; giving the bureau expanded power to study what's going wrong in a sector and recommending how to improve it; and providing more meaningful penalties for subverting competition law and longer periods to undo damaging mergers are all smart, proportional proposals that we believe will meaningfully improve competition in Canada in ways that ordinary Canadians will feel in their daily lives.
