Canada–Madagascar Tax Convention Implementation Act, 2018  I bring up this issue over and over because the Liberals do not understand how the progressive tax system works. It is debt-financed, and it is wrong to keep pretending that middle-class Canadians received something out of this when every single member of Parliament received a bigger tax cut.

Carbon Pricing  When we put more money in the pockets of nine out of 10 Canadian families by improving the Canada child benefit, they voted against it. When we cut taxes for nine million middle-class Canadians and raised them on the wealthiest 1%, they voted against it. When we beefed up the guaranteed income supplement for low-income single seniors to make life more affordable for the most vulnerable Canadians, they voted against it.

Finance committee  We also want to ensure that Canadians who wish to enter the market at a point in time are able to do so, including middle-class Canadians, millennials, new immigrants, self-employed folks. Our government has taken this issue on very seriously. Today the Prime Minister spoke at the Canadian Home Builders' Association conference down in Niagara.

Finance committee  But it cannot be left to provincial governments to solve what is a national housing crisis. We need bold action from the federal government to help more middle-class Canadian families achieve the dream of ownership. The government's budget included some very positive proposals to help more Canadian families afford a home. We were pleased to see the introduction of the first-time home buyers' incentive, the proposed increase to the home buyers' plan withdrawal limit, additional funding through the rental construction financing initiative and the housing supply challenge for municipalities.

Carbon Pricing  They do not have a motorcade to take them anywhere they need to go. When will the Liberals stop punishing middle-class Canadians and raising the price of gas at the pump?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, the current Liberal government is making life more expensive for middle-class Canadians at a time when the majority of families can least afford it. The average middle-class family is already paying over $800 more in taxes because of the Liberals' tax hikes, while the wealthiest 1% of Canadians, of course, pay less.

Criminal Records Act  Here are the facts of the matter: Marginalized Canadians, indigenous Canadians and poor Canadians will not have the same opportunity to receive a pardon as wealthier white middle-class Canadians will have. How do I know? It is because that has been the testimony on this bill at committee. I have a simple question for my friend, and I would like his personal position, not the party position.

Justice  That is really unfortunate, because that is not what we are here to do. This is the government. We are the government that lowered taxes on middle-class Canadians by increasing them on the wealthiest 1% of Canadians. We are the government that introduced the tax-free Canada child benefit, and today we have 300,000 children lifted out of poverty, over 800,000 Canadians.

Criminal Records Act  Given the painfully obvious past and present failures of Liberal governments as well as the government's claims that middle-class Canadians are its priority, I have to say that making the middle class bear the tax burden of this measure, the cost of which the government has obviously once again under-estimated, is unfair to honest people who have never had a criminal record and likely never will.

Finance committee  This is a really important discussion. Obviously we set out to make sure we could not only ensure that middle-class Canadians were more optimistic but also that more people had the opportunity to be successful and get into a better financial situation, particularly those who were impoverished. There are three measures that we think have made the biggest impact.

Natural Resources committee  Through Generation Energy, over 380,000 workers and leaders from renewable energy and clean tech, from oil and gas, from municipalities, indigenous leaders and Canadians helped build the idea of what our energy future could look like and how we can get there. We listened, and we have taken action to deliver for middle-class Canadians and those working hard to join the middle class. We have done this by attracting new investment, extending the mineral exploration tax credit for five years, which is the first ever multi-year extension, and unveiling a plan that will position Canada as the world's undisputed mining leader.

Carbon Pricing  Speaker, most Canadians do not live the privileged life of the Prime Minister, with 24/7 access to a government jet to fly him around for weekend cross-country surfing trips. For middle-class Canadians, the Liberal's carbon tax is projected to add up to $600 on the cost of a flight for a family of four. Why is the Prime Minister forcing regular Canadians to pay exorbitant prices, while making the Canadian taxpayers cover his own vacation costs?

Budget Implementation Act, 2019, No. 1  Speaker, during the last election, Canadians made a clear choice between the Conservatives and the NDP, which planned to have austerity and cuts, and our plan to invest in the middle class. Canadians can see they made the right choice. Today's economy is one of the fastest growing in the G7. Canadians have created more than 900,000 jobs, and middle-class families are significantly better off.
