Gender-Based Violence  Madam Chair, first off, I want to thank all the participants in tonight's debate. I do not know or have all the answers on how we can completely eradicate violence against women, but I do know education and shining a light on the fact that women are being held hostage by their partners is one small step in doing that.

Interim Supply  Mr. Speaker, considering we have been getting the same results the last few votes, I think if you seek it, you would find the appetite to apply the result of the previous vote to the current one, with the Conservatives voting no.

Supplementary Estimates (C), 2020-21  Mr. Speaker, after these votes we have a very important take-note debate on the issue of violence against women, in light of the terrible tragedies that have occurred in recent weeks in Quebec. I think it is in everyone's interest to dispose of these votes as quickly as possible so the House can get to that very important debate.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I just have one quick comment in reference to my colleague's speech. He referred to staff being ordered to testify before they are even invited, but I know that at the defence committee, Ms. Zita Astravas has been invited, but we are having trouble getting hold of her.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. The member likely was not trying to mislead the House on purpose, but he mentioned earlier in his speech that the Conservative Party had mentioned the Prime Minister's last name at least two dozen times in the House today. We just checked the blues and it was mentioned once.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I actually have to commend the Minister of National Defence for his testimony on March 12 at the defence committee. When he was asked who was responsible and accountable for the failure of the allegations against the former chief of the defence staff to be investigated, the minister replied, “Yes, I'm absolutely responsible”.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I will try to speak French. I thank the member for emphasizing the importance of dealing with allegations of sexual misconduct within the Canadian Armed Forces. In the member's opinion, what is the next step that should be taken to get answers—

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, unfortunately I am getting a whole bunch of errors and I cannot start my video. I do not know why it kicked off. I will reboot the system and try to get back in.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, I have two petitions to present. The first petition, similar to some of the other members', is with respect to the genocide against the Uighur population. It is calling upon the government to follow up on what Parliament has already passed to formally recognize the genocide in China, as well as to call for the use of sanctions in the Magnitsky act against those responsible for the heinous crimes in China.

Petitions  The second petition, Madam Speaker, calls upon Parliament to move quickly with the proposed legislation to amend the Criminal Code and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to prohibit Canadians from travelling abroad to acquire human organs removed without consent, or as a result of a financial transaction, and to render inadmissible to Canada any and all permanent residents or foreign nationals who have participated in this abhorrent trade in human organs.

Persons with Disabilities  Madam Speaker, he did not answer the question. Many seniors across Canada are like my 98-year-old grandmother, living in long-term care homes with limited social and family contact that has been further reduced by the pandemic. Many have visual impairments or are legally blind.

Alfie Fromager  Mr. Speaker, today I pay tribute to a country music icon, the great Alfie Fromager. Alfie started his music career at the age of 12 on 560 CFOS. It was at the Owen Sound centennial in 1957 with his late brother Neil when his music career really took off and by 1967 Fromager took over as the host on TV's CKVR Make Mine Country that featured artists like Stompin' Tom Connors and Carroll Baker.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, I have a very simple question for the minister. It is the same question I have been asking the minister for almost a year now, here in the House and in written questions. It is about data and substantiation of how the prohibition of any of these firearms, or the measures taken through Bill C-21, would reduce gun violence in this country.
