Health  Mr. Speaker, there will be three ways of vaccinating people: hospitals, vaccination centres and in the community with GPs and pharmacists. Around 50 hospitals are on standby and vaccination centres in venues such as conference centres or sports stadiums are being set up now.

Health  Speaker, at today's technical briefing that was supposed to give Canadians some clarity on the vaccine rollout, one of Canada's top public health officials said the following, “I think we shouldn't be so [obsessed] with the...delivery of the vaccines themselves, the dates and so on.” Really?

Health  When is every Canadian going to have access to the vaccine, and will it be at the same time as the Americans?

Health  Madam Speaker, this week we found out that the delivery of the Pfizer vaccine will be, according to the minister, a just-in-time delivery method. This vaccine needs to be stored below -70°C. This means that our capacity to give that vaccine to Canadians depends on our capacity to store it.

Health  Mr. Speaker, there is a difference between signing a contract for a vaccine and when the average person in Canada will actually receive it. This week, we have heard from the Americans that in December they are going to vaccinate 20 million of their people and in January 30 million, which means by the middle of January, the Americans will have vaccinated the equivalent of the entirety of the population of Canada.

Business of Supply  This is somebody the Prime Minister has tasked to come up with a plan to get people who are listening out of this. They did not hear anything from her on information on when that vaccine is coming out. All they heard was that there is no plan at all. It has taken the Conservative Party to push them on the need for vaccines and rapid tests. Every step of the way, the only things the government has done were because of the actions of the people on this side of the House.

Health committee  Chair, while the clerk is here, I think we've heard a lot of interest in the Canadian media, putting it mildly, on the vaccine production process and distribution, etc. The documents that are going to be relevant to the committee could be prioritized, as the clerk just said. What this would do is, per the clerk's suggestion, give him some directions on what to prioritize first and foremost, and produce first and foremost.

Public Safety  Madam Speaker, the government signed a contract with a company called CanSino regarding a COVID vaccine in early May. Contracts with the leading vaccine candidates were not signed until months later. The CanSino deal fell apart on August 26. For the period between May 12, when the deal was announced, and August 26, was the Minister of Public Safety ever briefed by CSIS or the RCMP about potential problems with Canada signing a deal with CanSino for a COVID vaccine?

Health  Does the Prime Minister realize that he is going to have to update his talking points binder and give Canadians some information on when they are getting that vaccine and where, as opposed to just spouting nonsense about his failure to plan?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, my questions will relate to how long Canadians are expected to remain in lockdown and how many Canadians are projected to die of COVID-19 under the government's current projected vaccination and rapid-testing plan. What percentage of the Canadian population, assuming the efficacy rates of various vaccine candidates, will need to be vaccinated before herd immunity is achieved in Canada?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, a paper in The Lancet recently suggested that, depending on vaccine efficacy, the percentage of people who need to be vaccinated against COVID to achieve herd immunity is between 60% and 90%. This depends, again, on the efficacy of the vaccine. Based on the minister's current projection, when will herd immunity be achieved in Canada for COVID-19?
