Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I have a very simple question for the parliamentary secretary that he should be able to clarify, because I cannot seem to get the answer out of the Minister of Seniors or her office. This is the question I am getting from all the seniors in my riding, and I am sure it is a question from seniors across Canada: When is the government going to deliver the 10% boost to old age security and the 25% increase to the Canada pension plan for widows?

Agriculture Day  Mr. Speaker, today is Canada's Agriculture Day, when we show our appreciation to our resilient and hard-working farmers and farm families. I have heard first-hand from farmers in my riding how they have overcome immense adversity since the start of the pandemic, with processing delays and border restrictions affecting the movement of workers and products.

Expropriation Act  Madam Speaker, it is my privilege today to speak to Bill C-222, a private member's bill by the member for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke, an area that I know very well from my multiple years in Petawawa during my time in the military. As previous speakers have highlighted, Canada does not have an inherent constitutional protection for private property.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, if you seek it, I am sure you will find unanimous consent for the following motion. I move: That the membership of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be amended as follows: Mr. Nater (Perth—Wellington) for Mr. Doherty (Cariboo—Prince George), and Mr.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, I have two petitions to present today. The first one is similar to some of the other ones that have been presented, and it is very pertinent, considering the news this past week bringing to light the situation against the Uighur population by the Communist Chinese regime.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, the second petition is from Canadians concerned about the increase in the international trafficking of human organs. This is something I think we can all agree is absolutely terrible. Therefore, the petitioners are calling upon the government to move forward with the necessary legislation to amend the Criminal Code and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to prohibit Canadians from travelling abroad to acquire human organs removed without consent or as a result of a financial transaction, and to render this inadmissible to Canada.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, my question will build on the previous one. I would like to hear my hon. colleague's comments on the value of this committee in addressing important issues to our agriculture industry with the U.S., in particular the importance of Line 5 in providing essential propane to our farmers in Ontario and Quebec.

Road Safety  Mr. Speaker, I am rising to speak on two issues. First, to share the prediction of this country's greatest groundhog, Wiarton Willie. It is official: we will have an early spring. Next is a more serious message, but one of hope and inspiration despite the tragedy associated with it.

Wardens of Bruce and Grey Counties  Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize a few exceptional residents of Bruce and Grey counties. Over the past year I had the honour of serving with the outgoing wardens of both Bruce and Grey counties, Mitch Twolan and Paul McQueen. I think they both did not foresee the circumstances that COVID-19 would bring and the challenges, but they both rose to the occasion and did tremendous work.

Emancipation Day  Mr. Speaker, I am going to start my remarks a little differently. I am going to try to tell a bit of a story. Let us picture ourselves as my seven-year-old daughter and living in the southern United States in the 1830s. Life is not good. We utilize what was then known as the Underground Railway and make our way up.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, that is an interesting question. Obviously, we live in a free society, so it is up to individual Canadians to decide whether they want to be vaccinated or not. The last time I checked, we were here today to debate the motion that is in front of the House. If the member opposite has a question on whatever this petition is, I suggest he talk to the member who authorized the petition, not me.
