Oil Tanker Moratorium Act  Mr. Speaker, on March 22, 2018, the Lax Kw' alaams asked for an injunction against this legislation because they do not agree with the government. At Grassy Point, they have a deep water port. It is a safe area for a marine port, and the government has unilaterally chosen to shut it down.

Oil Tanker Moratorium Act  Mr. Speaker, the numbers do not lie, and we have lost $80 billion in investment over the last two years alone. Maybe we do not see the impact today, but these are the investments that will grow our economy tomorrow by providing the jobs and wages for tomorrow. The government can talk about how great the economic numbers are, but it is living off economic numbers from investment when the Conservatives were in government.

Oil Tanker Moratorium Act  Mr. Speaker, one thing people fail to mention when they talk about the example of Norway is, yes, it may have this large sovereign wealth fund, but it also has hundreds of billions of dollars in debt. As Albertans, we made a very conscious choice that we wanted to eliminate our debt as a province.

Oil Tanker Moratorium Act  Mr. Speaker, before I begin my remarks, I would be remiss if I did not mention a great man who has been mentioned many times today in this House, former prime minister Stephen Harper, who is enjoying his 59th birthday today, so I wish Prime Minister Harper a happy birthday. I rise today to speak to Bill C-48, which aims to ban oil tanker traffic on the northern coastline of British Columbia.

Natural Resources  Madam Speaker, this week we confirmed what we always knew: The Liberals are opposed to building the Kinder Morgan pipeline. The Liberals' record is clear. They blocked northern gateway. They ran out the clock on energy east. Now they are actually funding protestors against the Kinder Morgan pipeline.

Spruce Grove Saints  Madam Speaker, I am proud to rise in the House today to congratulate the Spruce Grove Saints on securing their victory in their fifth Alberta junior hockey league championships since 2010. The Saints have overcome a lot of challenges this year. However, nothing could prepare them for the loss of former teammates Conner Luken and Parker Tobin in the recent crash in Humboldt.

Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash  Mr. Speaker, on April 6 Canada experienced a national tragedy after a collision in Saskatchewan claimed the lives of 16 people and forever changed the lives of many others. Sturgeon River—Parkland's own Conner Lukan and Parker Tobin passed away in this terrible crash. Conner and Parker grew up in Sturgeon River—Parkland and both played for the Humboldt Broncos.

Net Neutrality  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to speak to the motion by the member for Oakville regarding net neutrality in Canada. This is an important issue for all Canadians as they navigate through the complexity that is the digital marketplace. This debate has come to the fore due to the decisions made south of the border.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would certainly take the statement by the member much more seriously if what the Prime Minister did in India was not cultural appropriation on the grandest scale. In fact, Indian politicians were claiming that the Prime Minister was offending them. He was literally wearing wedding clothes in India.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, the most important statements I have read are the statements from farmers in my community. Mere months ago, the price of lentils was above $8 and now it is going down to $6, which is directly caused by the 20% increase in tariffs that resulted after the Prime Minister's trip to India.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, that is a clear deflection of the issue. There is a time and a place to respect culturally appropriate wear. However, the Prime Minister has completely overdone it. By wearing a wedding suit in India he has drawn the ire of Indian politicians. It is an absolute shame.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I rise to speak to this important motion today. It is important because in my riding, like many rural ridings across Canada, trade is the lifeblood of our economy. Trade is facilitated by building strong interprovincial and business relations. When our Prime Minister creates diplomatic incidents, he undermines those relationships, and consequently, trade suffers.

Impact Assessment Act  Mr. Speaker, Bill C-69 is the latest monstrosity to come out of the Liberal government, a bill that will cripple Canada's energy industry and eliminate tens of thousands of good-paying jobs across communities in Canada, particularly in my home province of Alberta. This entire process is yet another concession made by the Liberal government to radical environmental groups that will not stop until Canada's oil and gas industry is eliminated.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I would be more than happy to take responsibility for the veterans across this country. That is why we will be winning in 2019, because we are going to get to the bottom of this. We are not the party that reopened the Equitas lawsuit. The current government reopened the Equitas lawsuit after the Prime Minister promised those same veterans that they would never again have to go to court to fight for the benefits they deserve, and that is a broken promise.
