Ethics  Mr. Speaker, if the Leader of the Opposition wants answers, he should not ask factually inaccurate questions. The story upon which he bases his question is false. There is no such fund. In fact, all Conservative partisan expenses come out of a single bank account that is controlled by the Conservative Party of Canada.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, these two members of Parliament acted in good faith in the last election. In fact, the member has said that Elections Canada accepted one interpretation in the 2008 election and an entirely different one in the 2011 election. These are matters for the court to consider.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, as I said already, these members acted in good faith, and they were democratically elected by their constituents. That is why they sit in the House of Commons. They are exercising their right to have this latest interpretation by Elections Canada reviewed by the courts, and we look forward to the outcome of that.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, these members acted in good faith. They were democratically elected by their constituents. They now have the right to argue their case in court, and we respect that right.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, the Elections Act is clear on a lot of things. First of all, it is clear that these members have the ability to make this intervention at the court level. We also know that they acted in good faith, and there is a difference of interpretation with Elections Canada.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, these members acted in good faith. They were democratically elected by their constituents. The Elections Act is also very clear that loans to candidates that are not repaid become donations and that donations of more than $1,000 are illegal. Liberal leadership candidates also received illegal donations.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, we will be happy to compare our record on this side of the House of Commons to the Liberal record any day of the week. This is the party that passed the Federal Accountability Act. This is the party that banned big money and corporate cash from the political system.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, the reason these two members are in the House of Commons is that they were democratically elected by their constituents. They acted in good faith. Due to legitimate differences of opinion with Elections Canada, the agency's interpretation is now before the court. That is the right of these members, and they are exercising it accordingly.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, the preface of the member's question is completely false. These members acted in good faith. Due to legitimate differences of opinion, Election Canada's interpretation of the rules is now before the courts. That is the members' right to pursue, and we support their right to pursue it.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, I would encourage my hon. colleague to actually read the judgment, which found that there was no evidence linking the Conservative Party or its officials, or its candidates in fact, to any wrongful activity in this regard. In fact, the ultra-partisan group that brought forward this case failed to produce a single solitary voter in all of Canada who was prevented from voting by a robocall or a telephone call.

41st General Election  Mr. Speaker, an ultra-partisan group lost the last election, and now it has lost in court. The party brought forward an ultra-partisan court effort without producing a single, solitary person who was prevented from voting by a telephone call or a robocall. It was this absence of evidence that caused the court to rule that there is no evidence linking the Conservative Party to any inappropriate or illegal calls.

Government Accountability  Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister does take responsibility for leading this country, and the results speak for themselves. Just today we saw a 2.5% economic growth, much bigger than expectations. Exports are up by 6%. We have had seven consecutive quarters of economic growth; 900,000 net new jobs, 75% in the private sector, and 90% of them full-time jobs.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister has made his position clear. Mr. Wright has taken full responsibility for what happened. He tendered his resignation, and the Prime Minister accepted it.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, I could spend all day talking about the era of Liberal scandal, the missing $40 million the Liberals still have not repaid, but I would rather talk about the fantastic economic growth numbers we saw today: 2.5% in economic growth, 6.5% growth in exports, and seven consecutive quarters of economic growth.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, as I just said, Canadians trust us because we are showing real leadership and we are getting the job done. Economic growth, for instance, has been much greater than we expected. We created 900,000 jobs and cut the deficit in half. We are creating jobs and leading the country in the right direction and we will continue to do so.
