The Environment  Madam Speaker, Canadians know that climate change is real. Canadians also know that climate action is hard. In Canada and around the world, climate action is no longer a matter of political debate or personal conviction. It is an existential challenge.

Foreign Affairs  We do not have time to try to make a political spectacle out of this. Real people are hurting. Real Canadians have been hurt. We will continue to take every action possible to make sure that we target very specifically those who commit heinous crimes. That is what we will do on this side of the House.

Business of Supply  While Canadians pay the price for rising food, billionaire Galen Weston, chairman of Loblaw Companies, which includes stores like Real Canadian Superstore and Extra Foods, has increased dividends to shareholders from $118 million to $125 million by 2022. While shareholders reap the profits, more and more Canadians are having to cut back on the amount of food they buy.

Cost of Living Relief Act, No. 1  In total, in this manner, an individual would receive nearly $1,160 for the entire year through the GST credit. These are real funds helping real Canadians, those working hard day in, day out to put food on their tables and make sure their kids get to school. This is real assistance for Canadians at a time when we are dealing with persistent inflationary pressures in the interim.

Taxation  Speaker, Canadians are looking for hope. Every day, Conservatives stand up in the House to tell the stories of real Canadians who are facing the worst financial struggles of their lives, thanks to the mismanagement of the government. Day after day in the House, the Liberals stand up to tell us how well Canadians are doing.

Taxation  That is thousands of dollars for Canadian families. That is real help that is going to help real Canadians. We understand things are difficult, and we are there—

Taxation  We will put more money into housing, we will create a dental program and we will double the GST/HST credit. That is real money in the pockets of real Canadians.

Taxation  A couple with two children with $35,000 in take-home pay will get $1,401. That is real money in the pockets of real Canadians. That is responsible leadership.

The Economy  We also have a reduction in child care costs of up to 50% this year. That is real money going back into the pockets of real Canadians.

The Economy  For a couple in Ontario with an income of $45,000 and a child in day care, our plan could mean an additional $7,350 this year, above existing benefits. This is real money going back into the pockets of real Canadians.

Flooding in Thunder Bay—Rainy River  In fact, one guy, Bob Feshuck, while standing ankle deep in water in his living room, told me that whenever he starts feeling sorry for himself, he turns on the television to see what is happening in Ukraine. Now there is a real Canadian.

Business of Supply  Our budget is ensuring that we are supporting Canadian families by subsidizing child care. I could go on and on. These are real policies helping real Canadians, and I would invite the Conservatives to vote in favour of the budget rather than presenting a motion that is clearly void of any tangible economic policy to help Canadians.

Government Business No. 16—Proceedings on Bill C‑11  More to this, Canadians also want to see Canadians telling Canadian stories, but what is not clear is how the CRTC is going to adjust the criteria to ensure that real Canadian stories are being told. Our artists deserve an even playing field between large foreign streaming services and Canadian broadcasters, as technology evolves and carries on into the future and as we move further and further into the digital reality and online spaces.

Criminal Code  There was another one in the parking lot of the Willowbrook mall in downtown Langley, and there were a series of other gangland-style murders throughout the Lower Mainland, including at the Vancouver International Airport, do none of this is theoretical; it hits all of us, and it is a real problem that real Canadians across this country feel personally. We want to feel safe when we are out and about in town, on our streets, in shopping malls and schools and hockey rinks, but, sadly, that is not always the case.

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  I wonder if the member could talk a little about what tangible gains he hopes the Conservatives would be able to leverage in this minority Parliament that would help real Canadians who are struggling with the cost of living and all of the pressures we have been hearing so much about. I heard a lot of complaints but not a lot of solutions.
